is there a way to quickly silence all ringers and reminders(including txt notifacations) like the 6000? If not is there a way to do this thru the main menu?

Yes. Open the phone and press the volume down key for a few seconds. To turn sounds back on hold down the volume up key for a few seconds with the phone on as well.
