What should I get to tide me over?

I think I may steal NotJoelShapiro's idea and get a temporary phone until the S710a comes out so I can get the Media Works package with unlimited data. That being said, what phone should I get? I want something cool to play with for a while.

I was leaning towards the Nokia 6230. I hate flip phones, I've heard too many bad things about Seimens and Motorola and the Nokia 6620, well I just don't like the way it looks (but hey I may convert if I use it firsthand 😉 ). Also, the 6230 takes MMC cards and I have a 128 MB SD card (which I believe is compatible with MMC, correct me if I'm wrong).

Coming This Week

I just called my Cingular store and they said that they might get it in sometime this week. The rep told me to call in tomorrow cause they just got their shipment in today and their last one will be tomorrow, so I don't know. Also he said that discounts would be applicable if you qualify for one, and I read somewhere on the forum that there would be no discount, sooooooo I have no idea what's going on. Just for your fyi.

Hey Joel

Notice our Nokia 6620 fan has disappeared? Think the only thing he wanted was to make trouble?

Upgrading phone?

I signed up for my Cingular plan not too long ago. I have a good 2 years until my contract is up, does that mean I can't upgrade to a new phone until my contract is up? Thanks in advance! 😁

s710a official w/ Cingular

Hi,

I am new to the board and just wanted to share some info. with those who didn't know already.
I live in the Northeast region of the US and confirmed today with 2 Cingular stores in New York that the S710A's are coming to the Cingular stores, but they don't know when and they don't have a price as of yet, but it's expected some time bewteen now and March or the next few weeks.
I am just happy that they are coming and can't wait.....I look at the phone everyday, like a little kid with a new toy!
I would assume that the price of the phone is less than the P910, since it doesn't have some of it's features, but in my personal opinion, the S710A will be better.....

Speaking of the tension in here...

Imagine if we were all locked in a room and there was one S710a up for grabs. What a blood bath that would turn into 🤣

My first Sony Ericsson

Hello,

I have been researching phones and I have never had a Sony Ericsson.
I am use to Nokia and currently have Nokia 6620, which in my opinion is a great phone.
I am loyal to Nokia, but this S710A has caught my eye and got me all worked up and excited....
I am considering the Nokia 7610, but am debating now after researching the S710A....
It's certainly seems to be a great phone based on specs. and hearsay and for a minute I was sold. However, I have never had a Sony Ericsson, and I am quite skeptical....
Can someone sell me on the S710A and tell me why I shouldn't just get the Nokia 7610?
Thanks

transferring phone #

I'm on sprint right now (yeah, i know) and waiting to switch to cingular when the phone comes out. My sprint # is a DC number while I now live in Atlanta. I REALLY want to keep my DC number! Now, i've got a friend willing to allow me to make my mailing address his house (to send my Sprint bill). If I use his address as my own, do you think I can get away with doing the number transfer to Cingular over the phone/net?

Any alternative ideas to doing that?
