Hi,
I am new to the board and just wanted to share some info. with those who didn't know already.
I live in the Northeast region of the US and confirmed today with 2 Cingular stores in New York that the S710A's are coming to the Cingular stores, but they don't know when and they don't have a price as of yet, but it's expected some time bewteen now and March or the next few weeks.
I am just happy that they are coming and can't wait.....I look at the phone everyday, like a little kid with a new toy!
I would assume that the price of the phone is less than the P910, since it doesn't have some of it's features, but in my personal opinion, the S710A will be better.....

If I recall, the 910 is going for about $799. I expect the S710a will run $599/$499 w/ 2yr contract.

I think everyone is just speculating as far as the price goes, b/c Cingular stores don't know as of yet what the final price will be.

Amazon.com is listing it at $419.99 when purchased with a service plan. Also has $150 rebate, making it $269.99. Not bad....
I would guess that the non contract price would be in the neighborhood of $600 (give or take a hundred). I've seen the S700i (same phone w/out EDGE) for sale online for $565 (unlocked, no contract), so this one will probably be a bit more.

I'll vouch for him about Cingular reps winning the phones. I won one. Sony has a contest for Cingular reps going right now. It started 2 weeks ago. The 1st 40 sales reps to sell a certain amount of SE phones in my market won a s710 (I am proudly one of them. They will be shipped upon release of the phone. 😁

According to the SE rep that I spoke with at CES (about two and a half weeks ago), they were planning to price it at $399 (as other people have said). He noted that it was up to the carrier whether to discount it, and I assume that also goes for offering a price about the suggested retail price as well.
I played with the phone for quite some time and was very impressed with its feature set, though because the demo units on the show floor did not have SIM cards, I was not able to test call quality.

I would definately be happy with $399. Any discounts Cingular wants to offer are greatly appreciated as well!

The price we are looking at is 349.99 w/2yr and will be out the beginning of February.

I just called cingular, and the sales rep said that the phone will be availible in a few wks. They had hoped for it to be done with testing already but it hasnt pass testing yet. She said a few wks.. so latest around march? lets hope it'll be out soon.

What if this whole prolonged situation was called the "Hurry Up and Wait" game....getting us all excited, so that on the day they announce the release, we all run to the stores to buy them.
If any of us are familiar with Louis Vuitton, we all know that is the game they play to get people in there to put there names on "waiting lists" to be one of the first called when the bags arrive.

The 700 has 2 Euro. and 1 Amer.

I have heard about this contest from several sources - I believe it is legit. The prize is often times something that is either brand new or not quite released yet.
That said, dates change so information people give becomes inaccurate - so it's hard to know for sure when the phones will be out. Until I see them, then i'll believe they are out.

Hey u took it the wrong way....chill. I believe u....I was making a point of saying the phone has to be tested already if they are running a contest for the reps to win them. They couldn't possibly be giving away something that hasn't already been tested, in my opinion. Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

listen to me for real call one of the stores. ask a agent they will tell you that they are having a contest. dont belive use call and ask one.they will tell you. i work at the call center.( and yes upon occasion i hav asked about the contest and had a few laughs about a contest for a phone that we dont even hav a dummy version for.) you want a store location and number? give me your zip cod eill find a store for you. but their is truth to this.one rumor.
