Quick question about SIM phones

This is my first SIM card phone, so some things are new to me. What is the difference between saving your address book numbers on the phone and on the SIM card. Cause I heard SIM cards can burn and you lose all your info, so isn't it better to save it to the phone???

My last question(for now)..I promise

When I added my first number in the phone book of the V3, I put it on speed dial 1. But when I hold down 1, it calls the voicemail. Whats the deal, and does this mean that voicemail is permanently speed dial 1 no matter what?

V3 or Smartphone? Help!

šŸ˜• I haven't had a cellphone since the late 90's, so every phone is cool to me. That said, I have the Audiovox SMT 5600 Smartphone and love the user interface/functions, but have anticipated the Razr.

Problem? I have gotten accustomed to the Windows Mobile interface and have heard that the V3 falls short by comparison. But the V3 is a quad band with a great speakerphone. I am so torn.

What will I lose by passing on a smartphone in favor of a V3, which one salesperson called "a regular phone in an attractive shell?" What would you do? I'm leaning toward waiting for the next generation of the Razr...even if that's a long time from now ā˜¹ļø

Any feedback is appreciated.

Why are there no games on the Cingular phones. All of the reviews on the V3

indicate there are several games included, but my phone has none. There is an option to connect to Cingular to shop for games, but I am a T-Mobile user and don't think I can do that. Is there a way for my to download games?

Just got the Razr

I just bought my V3 today from a Cingular store, and I only paid $300. I bought 4 phones under a family plan, that is, so my total was $1200. They lower the price if you buy more than one. Don't know if they do it everywhere though.

RAZR Smartphone

I heard on fierce wireless that motorola is working on a new phone that is based on the razr design and will implement smartphone technology, has anyone heard about this? I think that would be the world's most perfect phone.

Razr as modem

Anyone been able to use the bluetooth to connect a palm T3 to the internet? I have not been able to as yet. The palm recognizes the phone as a moto phone, but will not connect to the internet.

Dial from contacts on a bluetooth pda then send call to bluetooth headset?

I know that some phones will communicate with 2 bluetooth devices at once. Like dialing from bluetooth pda and then sending that call to a bluetooth headset? will the v3 do this, any one tried ? I would be helpful to know.

The V3 vs. the V551 -- which is better for int. work, Macs, etc.?

So, I work as an independent reporter, and much of work requires foreign correspondence in far-flung places. Iā€™m interested in Motorolaā€™s RAZR V3 and the V551 for the following reasons:

-Both are quad band
-Both are unlocked GSM world phones
-Both have Bluetooth (which would enable me to access the internet with my Mac laptop)
-I can use Cingular service

I donā€™t have any use for the video, camera, or game features ā€“ theyā€™re nice, but I donā€™t really need them. Anyway, Iā€™m told that thereā€™s basically no difference between these two phones, except for the style (and cost) of the V3. I therefore have two question: Is that really the case, or is there something that separates these phone (and if so, which would you recommend), and; i...

I love instant gratification. I decided I needed a V3 this morning so I

started browsing Ebay to see what's what. I did an advanced search for sellers within a few miles of my city found a guy selling a BNIB V3 with headset (contest winner). I emailed and asked if he would end his auction early and sell me his kit for $500. He got right back to me and we met an hour later at Micky D's and made the exchange. Nice guy who works for Cingular. I popped in my T-Mobile sim and was ready to go. I've got to say that this is the coolest phone I've ever owned. I'm not too heavily into features such as PDA and the like, so I don't miss those things. My only gripes so far are the ridiculously incomplete owners manual and no video record feature, but the 5 meg memory I guess you couldn't do much with it anyway. Man,...

All Cingular world phones unlocked?

There was a post on HowardForums that stated all Cingular world phones are unlocked. Can anyone who works for Cingular verify this outlandish statement?

Why are we even having a price discussion??

The price is what it is. This is a super-sexy phone, easily the best looking phone on the market. It's the corvette of cell phones. Sure, it may not do much (as compared to other high priced cars like a Escalade), but you pay for the looks. It's expensive. Get over it. Companies charge if they know people will pay it. If sales are slow they will eventually lower the price. But good grief, stop complaining. We can't all afford everything. I would love to have a Corvette, but it's too high, and there is no real cheap alternative. High priced items are a part of life.
