Motorola V400

I now have the phone tools software and cable. I have tried to install and connect to my computer but my computer seems to be lacking the drivers to make this work. Either I am installing this improperly or my computer is not updated enough to use this software. It keeps asking me to put in my Windows 98 Disk. Of course I do not have a Windows 98 disk because Windows came with my computer when I bought it. Any suggestions?? I would figure that the software that comes with phone tools would have everything that I needed for this to work. Again maybe I am just installing this wrong...Please help

🙄 I am about to give up! I have downloaded many ringtones and when I select them to be used, they disappear from my music/songs menu. They still show up as being able to choose them from the ringtones select menu but have disappeared from my Sounds Menu. Any assistance will be appreciated. Kate

Hello everybody, new to the forum and proud new owner of v400... been trying to use Uniring to convert a tone, and I make it to the page that tells me I'm about to be redirected... but then nothing happens. Not even able to click on the "click here if not redirected link"
Anyone have any other good links to convert Nokring to Moto formats???

Does anyone know where a can download poly or mps ringtones for my V400 for free? Or can I make my own ringtones because I tried myphonefiles.com and I'm havin trouble with doing it that way.

Does anyone know if MPT is compatible with the V400? Does anyone like MPT? There's not a lot of talk about it.

I've been doing a lot of research on this phone. I have had lots of time to fiddle with it, as well as the Nok 3600. While I want to purchase the Mot V400, I have found that the 3600 has an AWESOME (super freakin' awesome, ctually) set up of Applications, where as the v400 lacks in that department. I am pretty sure that both phones run off Java, so is it possible, with the aid of data cables, to copy them over? Or even write my own programs, and add them via data link? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

How is the battery life on the V400?

Does the battery last long enough to make a phone call is 1 to 2 hour long? Assuming the battery is fully charged.

On my v400, i'm having a problem with my music section. You know you download some songs, assign them to category so they are easy to find, cool. It looks nice for a while, but then my v400 doesn't show the files anymore. You understand? they are still there when i want to change my Loud Detail or make an alarm, but I can not access them if I wanted to delete them. This is crucial, cause I got mp3s on my phone which are taking up a lot of my space and I cant get rid of them no more. If anyone experiencing this too or know how to solve it, please let me know.

For those that have the V400, is the camera lens of yours inset slightly below the rest of the surface of the phone? I can't tell from the pics if possibly mine is missing some kind of outer lens cover. I keep my V400 in my pocket and the lens (since it is inset) collects a good bit of lint.

Can anyone tell me how to IGNORE a phone call when my phone is not flipped? I have it on anwser when flipped open but on them occassions when its closed and its someone I dont care to talk to... I gotta listen to it ring and ring cause I dont know how to stop the call. Someone impart some wisdom on this situation. Peace

Can anyone please tell me how to make MP3 ringtones for the V400. I don't know anything about V400, cuz I just got one. I know you can download some ringtones, but those are just cheesy and aren't songs. My friend has a Samsung A500 and can make his own ringtones. They aren't the polyphonic or mono ringers either, they are MP3 ringtones. His phone doesn't even point out that it can. So I figure since MP3 ringtones are a feature that IS pointed out, can anyone tell me HOW to make AND upload them to my phone please.

Has anyone else just have their speaker go out. Mine went out yesterday, the phone doesn't ring, speaker option doesn't work. I did a master reset thinking that would help, nothing.

OK, I have read thrugh all of the forums, and I cannot figure out what to do. I was able to send a picture to my e-mail address once, ever since then I have been unable to send anything anywhere. I either get a "could not connect to server" message, or a "connection unsuccessful" message. I do have the MMS option on my payment plan, so what am I doing wrong. Is there something I need to set up? When I try to get on the wireless interent it takes 2 seconds, but this will not work. Please help. Why can't I just take a picture, send it to a friend, why does everything need to be setup or activated? Just frustrated, thanks in advance for the help.

I have a t720i now and I don't like it at all. I wanted to wait for the v600 but with a $300 price tag and AT&T service I think I'll pass. Anyways all my first phones were Nokias and the t720i was my first venture away form Nokia. One think I don't like is that the phone does not vibrate and ring at the same time. Does this one do it?? Also are the ring tones loud?? on the t720 I can barely hear it when it's in my pocket or when I'm blasting the radio in my truck. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanx!!

That site took me to what i was looking for, but i didnt know if i can transfer MP3's and pictures to my phone.
