Motorola V810

i contacted a verizon retailer yesterday located in long island. im located in NYC. i asked if they knew a release date for the 810, they said to thier knowledge not for a while. they said the moto 710 will be out beofre that, probably sometime in May. That is actually a better phone than the 810 so i guess everyone can switch to that forum now 😉

I just spent a half hour reading the last few days posts.

Verizon IS putting up PCS towers, starting in NY and working their way down the atlantic coast. This will give them more bandwidth, allowing them to roll out higher end data services, e.g. streaming video on the LG VX8000, which I was told by a Verizon rep would be released early '05. Not much good having the phone out sooner when all its cool features rely on EV-DO when the signal wouldn't be available nationwide till later.

Here is a perfect example of what happens when you take waaay too long to release a product. People lose interest. No updates or requests for info in HOW LONG?? I could care less about this phone as well now after all this time. I sure hope some Verizon/Moto reps read these boards and see how costly these delays can be for them. This phone could have been FLYING off the shelves for what, SIX MONTHS NOW?? Now if this thing is even released at all, I predict a very luke warm reception especially when it is compared with the superior phones released by other providers.

This forum has not been added to in days, does this mean that there is no new info. on this phone? Will the 810 be out b-4 the 710?

This phone has been listed and the flagship for motorola cdma phones how can you say this is a cheapy????

Seems the same as vx6000 with flash...no external picture ID...i'm waiting for the video phone?...which will be first Audiovox 9900 or moto v710? any info?

Just received the new V810.

Wonderful and seems that uses the same computer cable of my Nextel i730.

Seems like the Verizon/Motorola people have absolutely no clue when they will be releasing this phone, although I hope it does come out in March.

Alrigt, now that both phones are getting closer to their respective release dates, the question arises: Which phone is better? The V810(US version) does not have speaker phone, nor will it have bluetooth. The V710 doesnt have EMS/picture messaging, nor can you store multiple numbers per person. What do you people think, which one should win?

Can anyone give a viable date for the release of the 810. I have verizon wireless and have the lg 4500 for over a year, and it blows. I hate lg's iv had too many bad experiences with them. Motorolas are always the best quality phones. let me know.

So the V710 will be out before the V810?

The Motorola rep told me Verizon has scrapped the V810 and will push to get the 710 out by 4th Quarter 2004. In the meantime, LG is coming out with the vx7000, which is already showing in Verizon's store computer systems. The inventory clerk I spoke with said they are expecting this phone any day now.

My rep told me they are pushing the A790? Is this true? Or are they just making an attempt at getting it out sooner than later, or are they just plain slow with it like the others?
