internet TV over WIFI phone

we just started an internet TV channel at www.channeluk.com and wondered if it's possible to watch it on a WIFI internet phone?

We wonder if the CPU's in these phones are good enough to watch a 25fps 300kb/sec wmv stream. Since we don't own a phone like this it would be good if we could get any feedback on this,..,

Mac User question: Motorola 710 vs Motorola E815

I have been using the Motorola V710 since Aug. 2004 as a cell phone and modem for my Apple Power book G4 when I'm on the road. Does anyone know if you can sych your Mac address book with the E815? Does the Blue tooth feature work with laptop and E815 for modem use? What's the story when no digital signal is available-will the E815 kick into analog function like the V710? Does Apple have this phone on their approved phones for mac users? What really makes the E815 better then the V710? Remember the launch in 2004? The stores ran out of the V710 phones everyday-now it's history! What's going on at Motorola?. I have a Verizon family share plan-four V710's. Do I hold onto like my startecs or is it time again to move ahead?

Thanks App...

Sanyo RL-4920 Question

Hi, Everyone - I'm trying to find out if this phone can use mp3's for ringtones. I'm pretty new to this and I don't understand where the specs say:

supports MIDI, 13kQCELP, CMX formats

I know what MIDI is, but not the others... Does anyone know if I can use BitPim to get an mp3 into this phone as a ringtone?

Thanks!

Motorola i875

### Need Info. Please ### 😎

I have just ordered an i875(aka i870) Motorola phone. I'm now using old i95cl and i90 Motorola phones. Can I use the sim card from either and install it on the i875?? If so, will I lose anything in my phone book data? If not where's the most cost effective site to purchase another? My carrier is Nextel.

Thanks,
Nr 😁

Information on GSM and CDMA

Guys-

I am looking for a website that can answer some of my questions.

I currently have a service plan through Verizon, and it is paid by my company so changing plans is not an option. I would, however like to upgrade phones without paying full retail.

Some questions:

What does "unlocked" mean when it comes to a cel phone?

Can you use a GSM phone with Verizon? If so, does it need to be "programmed"? Where can I get the programming done?

What functionality does the SIM card provide?

Thanks in advance,

Ernie

Kyocera Koi

Does anybody have a spc code for a kyocera koi for Ntelos(local carrier in Virginia and West Virginia). Trying to program phone for their service but Ntelos does not have a code to get into the programming phase of the phone. I would have already taken the phone back to the Ntelos store but it is over a hour away from my house and only want to make the trip if I cancel service with them.

Dose anyone Know if Cingular's PTT work with other carriers in the future or dose it now? Just curious since they decided to copy everyone. Went out and bought the LG F7200, and so far I love it, but it could use a Camera and possibly Bluetooth, but it dose it's job for now. 😁

New GSM user needs info...

I'm a lifelong AMPS/CDMA user, but will soon be forced to change carriers (due to my employer) to Cingular.

I've had very little experience with the inner workings of GSM, and I have a couple of questions:

My current phone (Verizon) has a preferred roaming list that is updated once every month or so by making a call to *228. For those familiar with Verizon, you know that this is also how the phone's NAM is programmed. I know that GSM phones don't have such a programming process. Since there's no number to call to update roaming lists, how is the PRL updated by Cingular, when new networks are added, or partnerships are changed, etc? Can they just address your phone over the air to modify the PRL details on the SIM, or does PRL data nev...

Can phones cross over to other carriers?

I am a Sprint user looking for a new phone, and I am just curious why certain carrier's phones cannot be used on other networks.

For example, the A900 operates in the CDMA850 band, and the Razr uses this band as well. What prevents me from using the Razr or any other non-Sprint phone in the Sprint network?

Any help would be awesome.

Firefly and the like

Who, in everyone's experience, are buying phones like the Firefly, that are aimed at the pre-teen market?

Locally, we have had a lot of interest in them, but since they are a special order item for the company I work for, I have not actually sold one yet. Thinking of getting one for my best friend's daughter, but I gotta get the OK from Mom first.

Just interested in opinions on this and similar products in general. Thanks!

Sonoma County, CA......R we LOST!!??

I'm stuck on the old TDMA system till technology improves, I travel for work into Napa,SOnoma,Mendocino COunties, as well as some to the Bay. Service inside a building sucks, as well as service on th WEST SIDE OF hWY 101. Roaming in other areas is hit n miss, but I stay with it because GSM is a pile of elephant dung in the "boonies" Does anyone know specifics on what is upcoming for our beautiful wine Country areas???? I'm holding out for a sure thing that will get me the coverage in all areas, no matter what phones are available. Techies, speak up, what's up with Sonoma County & parts surrounding?
