I'm not a damned rocket scientist but I should have no prob with this. Is it defective? What else can I do?

Wireless carriers find new growth in prepaid

San Francisco unveils Wi-Fi proposals
source= San Jose Mercury Times.
Top 3 Carriers as of 2006
Cingular= 54.1 million (5.06 million signed up in 2005)
Verizon= 51.3 million (7.5 million signed up in 2005)
Sprint/Nextel= 47.6 million (could be more because of the recent purchases of affiliates, which didn’t close yet or just recently closed after the 4th quarter report) (6.8 million signed up in 2005)
-----
As we can see, Verizon continues to do well year over year and will probably do well in 2006 and we can see that Sprint/Nextel is ahead in net adds of Cingular, but behind Verizon. I think we can see that this trend will continue that Verizon will lead the total net adds for 2006, sprint/Nextel will be number 2 and Cingular will be number 3.
I think with the future developments for sprint...

How do I Program new no. in my Verizon phone?
I have the family share plan with 3 phones on VZW.
If I want to switch phone numbers between 2 of my phones, VZW store charges $20.00 per phone to do it.
Could anyone tell me how to do it myself?
Thanks in advance. 🙂
Try out a new simple Java app for mobile phones
The application lets you access web content in a unique way. You can start by subscribing to your favorite sports feeds, news, flickr tags, horoscopes, RSS/Atom feeds, etc. in a couple of clicks and stay updated with the latest. You can exchange free text messages with anyone using this application (even bring your friends on board), share articles that interest you, invite anyone for discussion, create a community to stay connected with the people you know or like minded people that you want to meet.
If you want to explore more you can link to people already using this app and also by inviting your friends. The people you link to...

Those thin signal boosters? Has any tried them before?
Has anyone tried them, and do they work at all?
I'm not asking for a specific phone--just if the thing actually works.

T-Mob's 3G Strategy in the US: UMTS
I just wanted to bring your attention to this article about T-mobile's utilization of UMTS as its 3G solution for the United States in 2007.
http://mobilehipster.com/t-mobile-news/video-on-the- ... »
Its interesting that t-mob is bringing 3g services to the US so late in the game. So far it seems they plan to use UMA to get more mileage out of their EDGE network until UMTS is ready next year.
I guess they're gambling that consumers are not yet ready for widespread 3g technologies.

What Verizon phone meets my requirements?
I prefer NOT to have a flip phone but prefer the candy bar type.
I really DON'T need to carry music with me, don't really need a huge screen, NO cameras nor vcast and stuff, BUT, I would like bluetooth for a bluetooth headset and probably a phone I can hook up to my laptop so I can get on the internet.
What are my options? At verizon they told me it would HAVE to be a flip phone.
Thanks

Wireless Internet and phones
I have to give a presentation next month regarding internet service on cell phones and PDAs. I am looking for some feedback on what carriers have which service, and what features people tend to use the most.
Who of you actually use your phone to get online? Do you use PDAs? What things do you check out online (MapQuest, Games, Chat, Instant Messaging)? Let me have it!
Thanks!
