RadioShack's Wireless Business Struggles, As Does Stock

http://www.cellular-news.com/story/16844.php »

The retailer's wireless sales, which account for about one-third of its total sales, were a mixed bag in the fourth quarter. Total wireless sales rose 6% compared with the year-earlier period, but sales of Verizon Wireless products, which were taken out of stores at the close of business Dec. 31, were much lower compared with the fourth quarter of 2004.

In addition, management said in mid-February that the performance of Cingular Wireless products, which replaced Verizon on Jan. 1, was disappointing. RadioShack's management said the matter would be addressed by improved training of sales associates in its stores.

RadioShack continues to sell Sprint Nextel products.

The retailer is...

cell phone education

I am in the market for a camera phone ~ I don't really know a lot about the specifics of some of the features ~ I really like the nokia 7610 and the koi ~ I have been told no less than a mega pixel ~ OK I get that ~ but can you explain amps and cdma ~ do I need both and can I get mp3 downloads with just high speed data and not the mp3 option ? EMS picture messaging ??? worth it ?? should it be included ? any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. I have a phone currently, contract is up and can be renewed at any time ~ I am also being very patient and would like to make an educated decision rather than a hasty one just to have a phone.

Stupid Cell Phone Screens

I bought a Toshiba VM4050 about two years ago, and the screen was beautiful compared to about every other screen available. It was bright, colorful, great resolution, and above all, bigger than any other screen! Fast forward to the present time, when i am back in the market for a new phone, and the fricken screens have gotten no better! My VM4050 sports a screen size of 240 x 320 pixels, and the latest multimedia packed phone (released by sprint), the LG Fusic with a price tag of $300+ sports a screen size of 176 x 220 pixels! The length of that screen is smaller than the width of my two year old phone's screen! It has a megapixal camera, bluetooth, memory card slot, fm transmitter (?!), but no screen deserving of any respect! The Sany...

any phones out there that can...

Can phones have software added?

I'd like a phone with OUTLOOK (will that have the calendar part of outlook on it and will it set off an alarm to remind at that time?)

and MONEY (so I can use it like a check register at the cash register).

I'd like a half-way decent CAMERA on it, too (What would be a good mp size? I keep missing great shots of my kids b/c I don't have my camera, but I always have my phone).

I'm a nextel customer, but am willing to change companies to get the phone that does these things--I really do not use my phone much (less than 200 minutes a month). But with the other features, it would make it more valuable to me.

Thanks for any suggestions on phones and explanations of how things work you can offer.

How to make Treo 650 work with BMW BTUM

Does anyone have a solution of how I can get my Treo 650 to work with the new BMW BTUM (bluetooth module) that I just bought. I was told by BMW that the Treo works properly in the car if you are a customer of Sprint (which i'm not, i'm with cingular) Sprint's software for the Treo is different than the other carriers and apparently complies with BMW's specs. I paired the phone with the bluetooth device anyway and everything works except for the fact that it will not read the address book in my phone which unfortunately for me is very important. Can anyone help me with this?

Cell phone radiation chart

"According to the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA), SAR or specific absorption rate is "a way of measuring the quantity of radiofrequency (RF) energy that is absorbed by the body." For a phone to pass FCC certification, that phone's maximum SAR level must be less than 1.6W/kg (watts per kilogram). In Europe, the level is capped at 2W/kg. The SAR level listed in our chart represents the maximum SAR level with the phone next to the ear, a level obtained through required FCC tests.

It's important to note that in publishing this list are we in no way implying that cell phone use is or isn't harmful to your health. While research abounds and some tests have shown that cell phone radiofrequency (RF) could accelerate canc...
