DROPPING CINGULAR NAME-- WHEN??

I was under impression this was going to happen soon...so far no changes I have seen.
So question is when do purported marketing expense savings begin to show.

If they do drop name won't they have to spend big bucks informing customers?

When is all this supposed to happen?

wide Pearl?

My company just received a phone from RIM that can only be described as a wide Pearl. (It's a test phone - we make games & other applications for cell phones.) Same sleek black & chrome look, same track ball, but a full QWERTY keyboard.

It's not labeled with any sort of model number, and I couldn't find anything like it here on Phone Scoop. RIM doesn't send manuals with the devices they send to us, either.

What is it?

Works with Cingular if that helps, but I have no idea whether or not it is GSM, EDGE, or HSDPA.

Settle this once and for all

For weeks I have logged onto this site and read forums and articles and researched cell phone companies as well as their coverage maps. The two I have come down to are Verizon and Cingular. One has the larger network and one has the larger customer base. But when it comes down all down to it. Who do you have the better overall celluar phone experience w/. Meaning reception, dropped calls, clarity, coverage, pricing, featurs (such as nites @ 7pm), customer service, website. Which one is best on phone calls on your stress and on your pocketbook. 😳

holiday pricing

Anyone wonder about the economics of certain carriers dropping prices for the holidays and others jacking them?

Verizon & Blackberry Pearl ?????????

Does anyone know if Verizon has any intention of offering the Blackberry Pearl in the near future? It seems to be the highest rated (by Phonescoop reviewers) phone out of all of the E Mail & PDA's. I'd like to get out of my Treo 700P and the Pearl seems to be the way to go - but I can't & won't leave Verizon. Thanks

motorolla ic502 for sprint/nextel- new hybrid tel

after my continual calling to nextel, i was finally offered a pair of brand new ic502 hybrid tels to stave off my request to terminate my 10 years of nextel service. it only took them 2.5 weeks to activate the tels, after i spent more than 15 hrs on the tel with everyone they could transfer me to at sprint, nextel, and even Motorola. apparently, living in the test market for these new technology tels, made it a solution that appeared viable to salvage a customer.
i will assure you that the initial hassle of even activation of these tels will be most frustrating. i finally reached the executive offices of sprint and got a hi level contact involved to just get info. now, i have the 2 tels online, and they appear to work much better than m...

attentnion all cell customers

this is for you....
try being a little nicer when you walk in the store and have an issue, ill be more willing to go the extra mile to help you, other wise ill do anything to get you out of the store asap.

don't think that because you have been a customer forever that you are entitled to a new phone. I have had the same cable service forever and i dint get a new TV when mine breaks do i?

don't say that that after an argument "well ill just go to such and such comp, they have better service" do you think i really care? the rules aren't going to change in your favor because you said that.
