I was speaking with a friend of mine(non tech geek, head of a company) about the new 8525 and how I was waiting for it. My friend me how he was speaking with a head of major media company and this person told him of a new phone that cingular was coming out with that would have more storage than a video ipod(so that puts it in the 30g-80gb range).

I asked my friend for more details or to contact the media head for more details. He said he didn't know more and wouldn't contact this media head for such a trivial matter. Being a geek...it is always nice to know what is in the pi...

Does anybody have an idea when verizon will have a phone that has WiFi? Not there BroadBand service but a true WiFi?

I know they have they one, but I heard it sux, always losing connection and not good speed.

I was hoping that the Treo would have had WiFi and I was surprised that they didn't.

Anyway, I want to buy a new phone and renew my 2 year contract but I don't like any of the phones they have currently. I almost bought the Motorola Q but again no WiFi and I don't want to pay for a data packet plan.

Well, I hope someone has some info on phones coming out next year 1 qtr or 2 qtr.

Amp'd is coming out with its version of the Motorola Q. It will have Stereo Bluetooth, EVDO tethering capabilities, access to Sling Media and a 3 Megapixel camera. Rumor has it that it will be selling for less than $100. 😁

Anyone have any other info. regarding the price and when it will be available in stores.?? I'm due for an upgrade today 10-03-06, and I'm itching to get the LG-9800. I know Verizon has launched or announced a ton of nice phones recently, but Cingular faithful have no fear. We have our own portfolio of sick handsets comming for us as well.

Verizon jerks lets get ready to rumble!!!

I saw a commercial where someone connected their phone equipped with PowerPoint to a projector. Does anyone know what phone does this? Do i need some type of Hardware in order to connect the phone to a projector? Thanks!

I am interested in the treo 680. (mainly due to a smaller sized PDA that runs with Palm software which I am used to).
Currently I am a (happy) verizon customer and I'm wondering if Palm will have a version of this phone that works on a CDMA network. And will I have to wait another year or so.

Otherwise what do you think about switching to Cingular service and getting it through them. I live and use my phone mainly in NYC. Is cingular reliable there?

I am currently a T-mobile customer and looking to switch. I want to get the razor phone and I am checking out www.wirefly.com where I can get one for free w/ both VZ or Cingular. My company offers a corperate discount on service plans. Afer checking VZ was higher but only by a 2dollar difference. I've never had cingular but used to be w/ At&t b4 they merged. I did have verizon but it was back in 2000, a lot has changed since then im sure. Please help me make the right choice as they lock you in for 2 years now. 😳

So, the Blackberry 8705G is on the Blackberry site and T-Mobile is the supposed carrier, but T-Mobile acts as if they've never heard of the device before. This is down right irritating to me because from my experience with the 8703e (VZW), I believe the 8705G is going to be a device worth having.

T-Mobile's email through blackberry is the fastest I've dealt with, but the limitations of the 8700G made me switch to Verizon. If anyone has heard more than I've heard about about bs special ordering through a T-Mobile store, please answer back.

From rcrnews.com comes word that California is suing Nextel for the same reasons they sued Cingular.
In all fairness it is not the state itself but a self appointed watch-dog outfit that is behind this unfair billing practice issue. It is an outfit called the 'Foundation for Tax-payer and Consumer Rights', which is based Santa Monica. The connection between the Cingular case and the Nextel case is rather clear cut.
This group cites "deregulation" as the cause for consumers woes and sees itself as rescuing folks from 'a major rip-off strategy.'

is going to be buying out U.S. Cellular. Was suppose to happen this year butit got delayed til 2008.

I read you can get the firmware update V04 downloaded into your phone to activate speakerphone either by doing it yourself online or going to a Verizon store to have it done.

I've also heard this phone has no speakerphone capabilities, hence, no software to get.

What's the truth?

I'm interested in the new LG CU500. It's only available in the cities with 3G. Does anyone know when the metro Kansas City area will carry the LG CU500? Also, if I bought it online, would there be any problems using it before 3G arrives in Kansas City or would it be wise to wait.
