another yelling customer

i work for a vzw agent and this lady just called and said that the car charger she bought from us broke two phones that she got since saturday and that the vzw corporate store will not give her a warranty replacement because it was broken because of a charger she bought from an agent. This sounds ridiculous to me. Why should they not replace it? They told her that we would replace her phone because 'our' charger broke it, but she did not buy it from us and I would have no way of doing an exchange on something that was not bought here (obviously). She said she spoke to the manager of the vzw corporate store. Any one know if this sounds right- she's coming tonight to return the charger and will probably expect me to give her a new phone.....

contract extensions

Is it just me or does it seem illegal when people change there price plan and have there contract extended without signing anything? Its like if you rent a apartment and they charge extra for pets. When you sign the lease you don't have a pet. But then a couple months go by you get a pet and notify the landlord. you agree to pay EXTRA for the pet but they don't say since where letting you have a pet where going to tack on some extra months to your lease without you signing anything. Anything that changes your contract time agreement voids the contract. Why is it different with cell comps?

Is it just me...

Or does it seem like the phones your carriers' competitors carry always seem more exotic, or more feature-packed? โ˜น๏ธ

Kiosk Reps --- just curious

Hi I was just curious about the Kiosk reps that have to work in the malls and how they get their customers..... I remember way before my cellular industry years I was 18 and walking through the mall and every 20 steps there would be a cell phone kiosk and the people there would stand and keep saying "HEY ...HEY YOU...DO YA GOTTA CELL" for the first few times I said no and they would grab me pull me over and try to get me to buy a cell phone from them....1 person finally got me to buy the phone and such and I was a happy camper on my way through the mall....Well the Kioskers would not stop trying to sell though! I would be talking on my cell phone shopping and the reps again would just yell "COME OVER HERE AND LET ME SEE YOUR CELL!!!" I fe...

Stupid Customer Poll

We always hear about the "chirp" or "squawk" or "beep" feature. So many customers come up with their own words to describe a feature. But how many have heard of this. My girls had a customer yesterday who wanted to remove the "clicker" feature from her account. Just a poll to see what all you people think the "clicker" feature is. It took a while but my girls finally figured out waht she needed.

On a lighter note...

I had a man in his 50's come in and said that his wife (who was a realtor, they always have to get that in there, as if that is going to open a whole new world of discounts for them) had sent him in to get some information on Blueberries. ๐Ÿคจ

I looked at him confused for a second, smiled and asked "Bluetooth or Blackberry?"

He says "Awe hell dont make me go ask my wife again!"

We figured it out it just made me smile! ๐Ÿ˜

Uhmmm, Please don't kill me, I just honestly don't know the number.

Okay, I'm an authorized dealer (Third party dealer) for the big orange splotch. Before I started working in the cell phone industry I didn't realize that half the stores were third party dealers, so I never assume our customers know the difference. That said, I got a call today that really ticked me off, and kinda scared me. An older woman, (I'm guessing late 40's early 50's calls)

C: Do you have the number for the corporate store acoss town? Cause I no you can't look up out of state numbers (True) and they always have better deals (Not true. We're almost always cheaper then they are)
Me: Uhmmm actually, no... I don't have their number ....
C: What? (Screaming at the top of her lungs) What the f**k is wrong with you? Why don't you have...

comission question.

how do you divide up the potential customers. normally at my store we just take turns approaching customers unless everyone is busy then you have a little power play. unless of course the customer comes in asking for you. lately I've been blowing it up far higher then my fellow reps some not even at quota yet. my manager says I should take it easier and give more ups to the fellow reps and maybe just help out customers when everyone else is busy. my reply was to ask him if he even wants me to show up. should I set back and let others take all the sales? remember i'm not sharking I just have a much higher be backs/close rate then most of these other reps.

If I ask a question, please just humor me and answer it

We start this conversation with me facing one direction while the customer just walks up behind me without me having any idea she's there.

Customer: I was supposed to have a phone mailed here.

Me (turning around): OK.

C: They were supposed to mail me a phone here.

M: We haven't received any phones for customers here. When did they send it?

C: They were sending it.

M: OK. Why were they sending you a phone?

C: They said they were sending it here.

M: Who is sending you the phone?

C: They said they had to send it here.

M: Great. Was it for a warranty exchange? Or for an insurance claim?

C: Ummmm....they said they were going to send it.

M (still trying to determine if she meant they were sending a phone to ...

nokia 6560 TDMA

Was just wondering if any of you guys have had problems programing the nokia 6560 TDMA phones. Was just on a 2 hour call trying to help this customer program his phone. The cust was doing all the right things so its not his fault, but the phone just wont program. I even had a TECH stading over me helping me program this thing. Was just wondering if you guys have run into this issue.
