Grav issues

It seems that some people (myself included) have changed their gravs, however posts still reflect the old one. ctrl+f5 works for some, but not for others... is this a scoop issue, or a grav hosting issue?

Where are all the April Fools news posts like you've done in the past years?

I usually get a kick out of 'em!

The joke's on us

So... we skipped our usual jokes today in order to cover the day's big news.... We've been feverishly posting news all day, but were so busy, we just now noticed that the front page hadn't been updating due to a server glitch. ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿคญ

It's fixed now. Sorry!

Is it an April Fool's Joke?

I wish it were, my friends, I wish it were.

But no, we've turned Phone Scoop magenta today in protest of T-Mobile threatening Engadget Mobile over their use of the color magenta. Sound like an April Fool's joke? It's not. They really are.

It's just as bad (if not worse) than RIM (the BlackBerry company) suing Samsung over the BlackJack... because they essentially said they owned the word "black". They also sued Samsung over a Korean phone with "berry" in the name of the COLOR of the phone - not the actual name of the phone... where will this nonsense end?

That's all crazy enough, but owning a color... really?

Phone Scoop is proud to stand by our friends at Engadget Mobile against this insanity.

Post Count?

It would be cool if beside each users name in a post it would keep track of how many posts that user has had since they first registered....

Alot of other forums have this feature and I've noticed alot of people post on this site when they aren't at work or just to talk all business, just to B.S. (lounge). Might add a little more sense of having a community and would just all together be a cool feature.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to do this and sorry if this has been brought up before, but it was just a thought.

FAQ Tab & Dual Sprints

It would be neat if we could initiate a rating system on forum posts as to the question or answer's usefulness. Or maybe just a button where forum users could vote that post as a frequently asked question and maybe after a certain number of votes that question would appear on a FAQ tab under that carrier. So that frequent general questions about a carrier could be easily accessed instead of answered repeatedly.

Also it would be a great help to combine the two Sprint forums. People ask Iden and CDMA questions in both forums, at this point with Hybrid phones and Qchat phones it would be really a LOT easier if it were just one forum. This way questions wont be overlooked just because a new user posts in the wrong forum.

Hacking Phonescoop??

No, its not a threat from me, but my boss has said blogging (anywhere not just here) is an IT secirity risk, since the site could be hacked, and if the IP address of the poster is discovered, it can be used to get back door access to our computers?

Is he for real? Or just blowing smoke up my...... butt?

How about...?

How about a view counter to see how many times a thread or post has been viewed? Is that possible?

Love the site by the way. ๐Ÿ˜

Rich: Questions About Copyrights

Rich,

Whenever a user makes a post, as long as it is original material, do they retain the copyright or do the posts become copyright of Phonescoop?

Just a question out of sheer morbod curiosity!

Icon on Glossary

How about an icon on the glossary that shows which entries have a picture. Seems like a good idea since I had no idea what a COW looked like until I saw it.

Two Sprint forums

When you go to carriers, you can see two separate Sprint icons/links. One for Sprint, and one for Sprint "together with Nextel"

Guess what? They each link to their own separate forum, with no consolidation.

Anybody else notice that? Is that by design or is that an oversignt? Is one designated the "good" one and one the "bad?" They both have recent posts... ๐Ÿคจ
