Change to forum quoting

I recently tweaked the forum functionality so that the "Insert Message Above, Quoted" link will only quote one level deep. In other words, it won't quote quotes; no more nested quotes (by default).

The idea is to keep things as clutter-free as possible. It's something that's bugged me a while, and perhaps other feel the same.

...or perhaps not. I'd love to hear feedback on whether you feel this is an improvement.

Also, please be on the lookout for any bugs in this feature. Please let me know if you notice anything acting strange or not working when using the quoting feature.

Thanks! 🙂

New: Full Site Search

We recently added a new "Search Site" feature to phonescoop.com. It's located at the top of every page. If you haven't had a chance to try it out yet, please do. We'd love to hear your feedback on ways to make it better, or any problems you run across.

Our old "JUMP" feature (which is still there) was never a full search function, although it was often mistaken for one. We also offered a Google search option (and still do) but we hope this new search feature is much smarter about matching up our unique types of content with the things our visitors are likely to be looking for.

For example, before the BlackBerry Storm came out, we published a lot of content on it in both News and In Depth articles, but people had trouble finding it. We ...

Blackberry Forum/Platform Question...

Since you have a WinMo Forum and an Android Forum down below on the front page, could you maybe move the Blackberry "platform" to the front page as well. I'm pretty sure there are more Blackberry users than ICQ users.

It would just make it more convenient than having to dig to get to it.

Hey Rich!

Have you guys ever seriously considered a phonescoop convention? And I don't mean for users to get together and drink and party but where we can see different phones from manufacters, find out about upcoming phones that are coming out and things like that. I know Blackberry and Sanyo reps always have demo phones you can play with while still in the testing phases before they come out. Also it would be cool if the posters of Phonescoop got to actually do reviews for you guys to post once the phones actually come out! I think it is a good idea then companies could actually send their reps and the reps could get accreditted for it. Thanks!

software for linking Outlook contacts to contacts for Blackberry or Win Mobike???

Does anyone know of a good piece of 3rd party organization software that allows you to link contacts to contacts and contacts to appointments/tasks like you can in Outlook and sync the same? I would like to see such a piece of software for a Blackberry or Windows Mobile device. I already am using such a piece of software for a Plam device (Chapura KeySuite) that works quite well.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Suggestion For PS

I know they have to be very time consuming but the in depth reviews on phones are VERY helpful and in a way entertaining. It does get depressing when a phone catches my eye and you guys don't have a review out on it yet. So my suggestion would be (if at all possible) more in depth reviews on phones.

Do you ever do follow up reviews?

I know this is probably asking alot since I see threads asking when are you going to do a review of this or that phone but I was wondering. I am sure alot of phone manufacturers see problems people have when reviewing their phones and put out updates to improve the phone. Do you ever go back then and re-review a phone to see if it has fixed the previous problems? I just feel it would be helpful for people that come to this site looking for a review of a phone if they can get one that does not mention bugs that might have gotten fixed by the time the phone actually comes out.

Why don't you guys have the quickfire listed here? The new AT&T slider phone. I see that we have it on our pricing grid to sell but it isn't listed on here. Any reason?

Rich, the Pantech PN 820 has been discontinued.

It is no longer available from Verizon's site, which was the only place customers could get the phone. I just wanted to let you know so you could update your site. Thanks.

PhoneScoop Suggestion

Notification Options: How about a system that allows a user to have email alerts sent out when a new phone is announced for a selected carrier(s). And maybe an option to select which phones are announced via email...example: Officially Available, In Testing, FCC Approved.

I would love to see an email about new phones when I'm out and about.

Or even just do a general platform for the phones: CDMA, GSM, etc....

Hey Rich!! Blackberry me up!

I see forums for Windows Mobile OS, S60, and even the newest addition Android, but where's the love for blackberry? It's just as big a tech-cult as MAC is i'm pretty sure.
