Cut Bill in Half
OK..saw the commercial to bring in my current bill and sprint will match service and cut the cost in half.
I have VZW with 700 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited text and unlimited data. for 2 lines with discount and tax is $160.
So...does that mean spring will give me the same thing for $80? Any catches like can only be on certain towers etc? What happens when I need a new device? Does it only last ...

Verizon Edge availability
Ok...looks like we are going to switch to more everything and use unlimited data...phones are just too darn pricey otherwise.
Question: my wife and I have 2 lines both eligible for upgrade in June.
Are we able to renew our contract, switch to more everything and upgrade with Verizon Edge prior to June? Do we have any options prior to June? Our current phones are not even 2 years old and freeze even after reset....awful.

No coverage at work
Question...if you get zero coverage at your place of work because verizon does not offer service in the area and you do not have coverage for a portion of the commute, will they allow you out of contract? I have a year left and hate to leave, been happy, but doesn't due me much good since I don't have covereage really when i would need it.

if i utilize another person or companies network extender, does it record or track conversations or internet history? With Big Brother I never doubt someone is watching...just not sure how these work or what not.

Hello,
verizon replaced my wife and me's android based phones with an alternative device due to ongoing issues. I explained that my wife's phone and battery's water indicator was bright red because my 2 year old dumped a class of water when the cover and battery was out during a reset (battery pull).
She said that was fine and that just because the sticker was blown did not mean the warranty was voided.
I got the new phones today and called ...
New software so format SD card??
I am getting a droid x to replace my samsung fascinate. My question is, do i need to format my sd card before I put it in the droid x or will the droid x automatically recognize and restructure it?
I know they are both android but each os has some differences based on moto blur etc.

If i buy 2 phones on ebay can I just go month to month with sprint? Is there an activation fee? (I know I wouldn't be able to get the service credit for transferring service)
Also, if I am unhappy can I just port my number back to VZW or is there a fee?
Finally, how is the coverage compared to VZW...i checked the map but it never looks different lol

Sprint still buying contracts?
I called customer service but the girl didn't seem to know (she would answer my questions with "i think") so figured I should check with the pro's here.
I have 2 lines with VZW....the ETF's total around 250-300....i know sprint was running a promo to buyout contracts...is that still going on?
also, what is the etf for sprint smartphones?
how often do the primary and secondary lines able to get new phones at discounted prices?

i just read a wall street journal article that said vzw will be releasing new capped data plans similar to att...anyone have additional details?

thank you! I am using it and it does work a little better. The bigger keys help. I might try the pay version for T9. It is just kind of depressing that Android can not come up with a better keyboard.

Ok, so when you hold the phone vertical, I believe this is the worst possible keyboard out there. do any input methods exist similar to the storm or incredible? where two letters are grouped together and the t9 is intuitive?
The word recognition also has been horrible...I type in bling and it gave me bangkok lol

Mysterious Application Backup
I did a total wipe of the phone and after it restored all of my applicaions...plus many I had previously uninstalled mysteriously installed themself.

it was absolutely heart breaking to leave teh droid..we both loved them but our local store waived teh restock fee (made me call 800 number first for a notation)....they admitted that my rep misinformed me which was nice.
anyway we got samsung rogues....nice phones but no droids :(

we purchased 2 moto droids....got our first bill and see that our employer discount does not work on smartphone/pda's just blackberry data. The salesman told us that we would get the same discount.
I called the 800 number and the lady stated that we would be charged a restocking fee. Is that true? The reason I ask is we bought the phone on the premise our bill would be the same...we are not returning them just for the ...

I had a question about the $35 restocking fee.
I renewed my 2 year contract and purchased a phone at promo price...the website says a $35 restocking fee exists if i exchange phone or return and purhcase a new one within 4 days.
does that mean I can return and revert back to my old contract date etc and have no restocking fee if i return my phone and activate my old phone and wait a week or two?

that is great! i was worried because Iw as reading on the web that android was having pop issues...and for example my friend got a hero with sprint and he could not use twc mail at all unless forwarded from gmail.

Storm 5.0 Email Glitch?
I updated to the new software. If i am emailing new or replying to someone in my address book I can send. If i am going to email someone not in my address book it doesn't give me the option to send.
Customer service had me reload the OS but didn't help...any ideas?

yea i looked at the pre...AMAZING but bad reviews and the incredibly small keypad kill me. seriously it is like little dots.
the hero was nice...kind of reminded me of the vzw dare.
the storm is definitely laggy and freezes and if i use any apps at all the memory leaks like mad....actually has made me really gunshy towards smart phones now.
i would love the touch pro2 but can get myself to spend that much.

ok so essentially everything is the same when in the grey roaming area as when in sprint native coverage except for faster battery drain and mobile to mobile doesn't work....also high end data features and speed such as gps may or may not work?
sorry just trying to wrap my head around things....that guy was saying what i wanted to hear and just confused me...also said sprint is adding customers at an amazing rate which i have been reading otherwise ...

i would primarily be sprint native coverage....i (to be honest) have just been spoiled by vzw. everywhere i go I have coverage and never have to worry about roaming....that is why I am so nervous (just tired of paying so much)
