Does the data cable also charge?
Jun 14, 2009, 4:51 PM
in the LG Xenon GR500 forum

I've seen the data cable, particularly a Belkin model available from daydeal, but I can't find any info to help determine if the data cable also charges via USB? Does anyone have the data cable and if so, does the phone charge while connected to the data cable?

Thanks for the response. I checked the Premier site (FAN) and the 2 for 1 Xenon offer doesn't show. In fact, there are no "deals" listed for that phone but just going to the AT&T site (as if I were a new customer) they offer $50 off mail-in rebate bringing the Xenon down to $99. Where are you seeing it as 2 for 1? Might be a nice option as my son was already looking ...

Experiences from early buyers?

My daughter is due for an upgrade and the features of this phone are just what she is looking for. I was hoping to get some initial feedback from those who have already received theirs. Anyone? Anyone?

I'm guessing you haven't used it then. Unless you carry a car battery around with you, don't plan on making it through an entire day with this phone.

I've been a fan of Nokia phones in the past as well. I think the 6555 we picked up for my son cured me though. It literally eats through a battery faster than you can charge it!

Horrible battery life
Oct 20, 2007, 7:51 PM
in the Nokia 6555 forum

I heard that the battery life wasn't great on this phone, but my son really wanted it (mostly for styling, but partially for the music player - he's 11). We bought it exactly 1 week ago today and have had to charge it 4 times and his talk time is just over 7 minutes for the entire week! He hasn't used it for music yet (the MicroSD is still on the way from buy.com) and we have ...

The store in downtown Cincinnati closes at the end of this month (May) and they are not relocating it, so there won't be any Cingular stores in downtown Cincinnati anymore.

What card are you using in the laptop? Both the SE GC83 and the Aircard list speeds ranging from 100k to 130k. I'm not sure if the card makes the difference, or if the Edge speeds are simply faster in some locations.

Yes, you can set the alerts to use one of many different combinations of the lights that are on the phone (there are different colored lights and you can set alerts to use different combinations of them). Shouldn't be too hard to see if you received a call/message or not. Some of the reviews are just plain wrong about some of the features so take them with a grain of salt. In particular, the review from ...

Mine does the same. When you have the menu type set where the options are icons, 5 is dead center and the logical default spot (the center icon "5" is highlighed so the other options are all very close to cursor over to).

It comes on when you receive the call, but just like when making a call I think it still goes dim and then turns off after the time you have set in the setup options (15 seconds is default I think). I think this works pretty well in that it lights up to let you see who is calling, but is off for the rest of the call to conserve battery life.

Thanks for the offer, but I ended up calling this morning to have them add it. I confirmed my suspicion by having one of the guys here who is on the same plan, login and check his account. His did list with UMM in the plan name code, so I knew mine was set incorrect. What really burns me up about this is a) None of the 2 year Family plans are offered without UMM, so ...

Thanks for the response. It is a national plan (the current 1100 with $9.99 add on lines that they have been advertising) and we just started service on the 27th of last month. In fact, to be very specific the plan is listed as FT9NAT1100RUNW on the site. I've seen others post names of plans that have UMM to designate the Unlimited Mobile to Mobile, but I'm not sure if it's simply implied on the FamilyTime ...

Features not showing on website
May 12, 2005, 11:13 PM

Given the rocky start I had in getting service setup with Cingular, I'm a bit paranoid about what is actually "on record" as being setup for me. I went to the website, logged in, and viewed the account information for my plan. We are on the "1100 minute Family Time" plan as of April 27th. I've noticed two features missing from the plan and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or if it's normal ...

Let's see: 1. I ordered 3 of the P207 phones and they sent 3 P777s out instead. 2. I ordered 3 cases but none of them were sent. 3. I indicated that I needed to port 3 numbers over from T-Mobile and provided then numbers/account info. None of that was on record when I called in and they gave me hassle saying it wasn't setup as a port, so there will be more work involved. 4. The website wouldn't work because it ...

If you followed the sencondary link to the InfoWorld article, it says at one point: "VeriSign and T-Mobile declined to comment on the suit. Yes. You can do it using the supplied software and USB cable. I don't use it for a portable listening device, but I get great use out of it for sharing comedy clips and things of that nature. For things like that (less critical quality needs) the speaker works great to have have a group of people hear it.

Another P207-->P777 switch for same price
May 2, 2005, 2:09 PM
in the Samsung SGH-P207 forum

Last week Cingular took my order of three P207's and sent me three P777's instead for the same price (P777's go for $299 w/2 year activation right now, but they only charged me $79 each for them). Well, on Friday a co-worker of mine ordered three phones, one of them being a P207. Today he called to confirm what shipped because the online system made it look like only one SIM shipped. The rep confirmed not ...

I'm not a CSR, but knowing how extremely poor Cingular is at getting things right, I personally would have checked my account on the web to see what changes were actually made. I know it doesn't help this time around, but it's certainly something to consider when making future changes. Good luck. I hope you don't get stuck with the bill!

I don't think anything formal has been printed anywhere (and I looked quite a bit myself). You'll probably just have to wait until the "newness" of the model wears out of the model before you see availability expand.

They don't. You cannot order this over the phone right now. It's only available via the Web with a 2 year agreement.

Re: Price question? Online vs. Phone order?
Apr 29, 2005, 10:28 PM

Well it's easy really, you just call them on the phone (because the web site doesn't work right), order the P207, and they randomly select a different phone to send you and they don't even notify you. It's just that easy!!! Now sometimes you might get screwed (someone else here got a c207 instead) or sometimes you hit the jackpot like me (they sent 3 of the P777's instead for the same price of $79) Play ...

Sounds familiar huh? I'm wondering if they actually get a small percentage of orders right the first time. Anybody know? Also interesting to note is that the rep he spoke to said that the reason they couldn't send ...

My fear about more PTT availability
Apr 29, 2005, 10:51 AM
in the Article: Samsung Joins Forces With Kodiak For PTT forum

OK, I understand that there are some great uses for PTT devices, particularly in specific job roles. The problem is that there is already a problem with people being very inconsiderate to others with it's use and I fear that the problem will only get worse with the expansion of availability from other carriers. For example, I've been in restaurants and had to listen to the repeated beeps and the conversation back & forth while I'm trying to eat. ...

Apr 27, 2005, 4:23 PM

Well, I tried to order three of the new Samsung P207 phones from the Cingular web site but couldn't because my billing zip code didn't match the coverage area. This is because my billing zip code from Northern Kentucky doesn't match the Cincinnati OH coverage area. This is incorrect as it is the greater Cincinnati area and even when I entered my Northern KY zip in while looking at plans, their system forces me to Cincinnati coverage. ...

They are now trying to tell me that I have to pay to ship back the incorrect phones they sent, and then pay full retail for the correct phones (because my 2 yr agreement price would only be for the original order that they screwed up). I've never heard of something so horribly wrong. It's been a week and I still can't become a Cingular customer. I think they need to have a new slogan: "Cingular, Raising the ...

It's a brand new phone (introduced the 15th of this month) and has voice recognition for SMS, voice dialing, etc. They have it priced at $79.99 (w/ 2 year). I can't see it beeing any cheaper any time soon.
