IS IT TRUE THERE GETTING RID OF CORPORATE LOCATIONS??

So someone told me that works for cingular that they are getting rid of all the corporate locations and all the agents will be able to perform what corporate locations are able to do. Is there any truth to this. I dont think cingular would really shut down all there corporate locations.

Well i can't confirm for sure, but they did close 4 corp. locations so far.and they did sign a contract with convergys, which owns part of the parent company of cingular, SBC, so take it for what its worth

Convergys owns a part of SBC? How much?

Cingular is closing all locations that are not strategically neccessary for their distribution. So if you see two Cingular stores in the same parking lot or across the street from one another you can bet one will eventually close.

Convergys owns a 40% piece of SBC, if you go into the convergys site, it been part of their annual stockholder meeting.They also own a 20% piece of Sprint PCS.Its part of their agreement,stock in exchange for business, they do SBC billing, and cingular customer service.they also do sprints customer service.

I love it when people say that. It cracks me up.
Here's the rundown-
Convergys owned 45% of Ameritech Wireless. SBC bought Ameritech. Ameritech represents about 15% of Cingular's current network. So, if Convergys still owns part of SBC, it's a very miniscule part. Less than 10%.

This article has to do with the regional headquarters for AT&T Wireless, not individual store locations.

The store in downtown Cincinnati closes at the end of this month (May) and they are not relocating it, so there won't be any Cingular stores in downtown Cincinnati anymore.
