yes you can turn the light on and off.
the light is off when you open the camera lense but you just have to click the settings button n theres about ten icons to select such as pic quality, pic size, save to(card or phone), light on or off, and some other kool stuff like effects. you can have the camera in negative, black and white n theres a couple more.(you can have them on while recordin too!)

thats the same for the K750i. I'm in the UK and have a K750i and have seen wireless headsets that work both for calls and MP3 with both phones not just the W800i.
Oh yeah and I think the sound from the K750i is great btw. i know its not really an ipod which i havnt heard but i have an MP3,WMA CD player from iRiver which you american ppl should be familier with and the sound in my mind ...

with the 64MB card that comes with the fone with nothing on I'm guessing at around 1:20 hours to 2:00 hours but thats just an estimate from how far the bar at the top has moved along while recording much shoter videos. having not recorded the full space i don't no it could possibly go up to about 3 hours with a blank 64Mb card.
so going by that estimate you'd probably get around 1 hours worth of video give ...

i have this phone and its great but i would like to buy a larger memory card, possibly 1GB.
i live in the UK and have searched the UK sites and found that 1GB DUO and PRO DUO cards are no cheaper than 70 english pounds but i have seen 1GB MMC cards for around half the price.
my first question is does this phone support MMC and my second is if not does anyone know of any sites i could ...

sry i cant help you with the reception in your area on this phone but i can tell you that tonight when i was out in the town (England) my friend wanted to ring for a taxi but had no signal at all on his nokia 7600 but i had completly full on my SE k750i. i dont know if this helps you in anyway but iv never had a signal problem with this phone

yeah it supports PRO DUO. havnt bought a PRO DUO stick to try yet like but it does. says it does on the box so im pretty sure it would if i bought one n stuck it in.

Does anyone know of any video convertion sofyware for this phone?
Iv got videos on my pc in mpeg format but the phone wont play them as the need to be mpeg4 or 3GP watever that is :?
Iv downloaded a demo of a program called mobile movie studio (sony ericsson) 1.2 which seemed ok although i had no picture and it only converted about 2 minutes.
just thought id ask if anyone knows of any freebies i could try before ...

got the phone yesturday and its so kool.best thing iv had in a long time. sound is great. radio is great. camera is great. video is great.the whole thing is just too kool!!
so glad i chose this over the S700i with its 1.3 megapixel and 128MB maximum memory.
great buy. i recomend to anyone who wants a phone that does it all very well.
(I'm live in UK btw so i dont know if its available in the US yet)

kool cheers. yeah i made a mistake on my previous post. the S710a doesnt have a 3.5mm headphones jack its the same setup as the k750i. i thought the headset must surely come in the box as it does with any other mp3 phone iv seen. that was just bad info gathered from some naff site.
this phone sounds really kool. im gunna go out this thursday and see if i can get a demonstration in a phone shop somewhere. ...

what happens on any mp3 player phone if someone rings or texts you while you,ve got the volume cranked up on your headphones?
im guessing it doesnt just ring as loud as the volume is directly into your ears half way threw a song so what does it do?

lol yeah kinda cheers. thing is i dont even know what singular is. I live in Leeds, England. id be buying the phone unlocked or simfree from www.Ebay.co.uk if anywhere to get around the mad prices. plus then i can just put my o2 sim card in it from my current phone.
iv looked more in depth at the k750i and i think it seems more suited to me. my only last worry is the sound volume as in several ...

can anyone give an idea of the volume they get at max from listening to the music player through the headset please? iv cashed out on expensive products in the past and been anoyed by the volume level and dont really want to pay the large fee for this phone to find the same.
any rough estemate would help. 50Db?-90Db?

ah ok. sry my bad. that was just info taken from some site mentioning the s700i. dont know if that has the jack or wether the sites just wrong on both phones.

can someone please tell me if this phone is better than the s710a for video and audio playback? i read that the only headset source available for this phone is some dongle thing that has to be bought seperatly. what is this like and is it better/worse than the standard ear buds used in the 3.5mm headphones jack on the s710a?

I read in a post on this page that the video recording time is only limited by the amount of free memory.
Is this the same for the audio recording and can anyone tell me roughly how long i could record for using a 128MB both with video and and audio. im guessing the video time is alot shorter

yeah i suppose it is early days. did the s700i come out at the same time as the s710a? cos im just thinking as its an earlier model it might have been released a while b4 the s710a. if so then i havnt yet seen any firmware for the s700i either. if not and they came out at the same time thats kool i just guess there both in early days

ok kool. thanks. i was thiinking of the sound through the headphones more than the speaker really as id be using the phone for personal mp3 music more than the speakerphone. how does mono sound through the headphones? have you tried it and does it sound any different from say a stand alone mp3 player with headphones?

iv just been looking at the features of the nokia 7710 as i saw it on a gadget program the other day and it looks pretty awsome. i havnt looked deeply into it or anything but its got stereo sound, a huge screen, a mega pixel camera n loads more. its a smartphone i think. supports MMC2 aswell watever that is (don't know the max size of MMC2)

hmm. the W800i looks pretty kool but i dont think i could gather the money to aford it. i heard nokia on the radio talk about a phone thats suppose to be coming out with 2 mega pixle camera and mp3 sound to rival an ipod which is what the W800i is like but the price tag on the nokia was around £450(not sure what that equates to for you americans).

i don't have this phone yet but plan to get it soon. everything looks so kool about it but the only thing is im more of a texter than a caller and i read that theres something pathetic like 6 txt alerts to choose from and sod all else.
its such a great feature on most new phone today that you can have your favorite track play when someones ringing you and most phones would allow the same for ...

hey. iv read all the threads about this. it seems a shame. but if i was to buy 2 128MB DUO cards. one of them plugged into the phone.is there any room at all where the second could be stored and then the cards could be switched when needed?
Like under the battery cover? i have 2 sim cards with the phone i use at the moment and i keep one of them in the gap ontop of the battery ...

stupid doctor said Oh it's probably just migrain. He'll get better. the headakes got worse so we went to the hospital. they straight away said iv got brain cancer. probably would have died thanks to that idiot doctor

yeah i listen to almost all kinds of music. but i must say i tend to play what i like to listen to. there isnt much i don't like to listen to and the most of the time when i play my bass its with my band or just me practising and writing new things for my band. we'v a chosen style of music so that genre of music is what i tend to play.
