I know you meant songs and in all reality it all depends on the size of the song files and the amount of memory you have.

I managed to get 30 songs on a 32 MB memory stick with songs being at 48 kbps Mono and they sounded good through the speaker and the headset.

hmm. mono. doesnt that sound crap? can you tell any difference from stereo songs?

No it really doesnt sound like crap at all. Having stereo sound for a small speaker like in the S710a could actually make it sound like crap. It's really over kill.

I dont know the difference, sorry.

ok kool. thanks. i was thiinking of the sound through the headphones more than the speaker really as id be using the phone for personal mp3 music more than the speakerphone. how does mono sound through the headphones? have you tried it and does it sound any different from say a stand alone mp3 player with headphones?

The mono sounds no different to me than my music sounds on my iPod.

Also, the mono through the phones speaker (not headphones) sounds good.
