sportsnut said: Cliff, I would advise not listening to guitar_guy. He's posting on both sites, LG 8000 and he's trashing the v710 on this one. He doesn't know how to use the phone and he seems like a real child. I've had the v710 since last November and it's the best phone I've ever had. I use the 810 bluetooth headset and it works great. This phone has the best reception out of all the phones Verizon carries. I'm a ...

Cliff, listen to this not that NUT uh sports nut or just plain nut  and he says the 8000 camera sucks its more like the v710 camera quality sucks LOL VX8000 The LG VX8000 for Verizon Wireless is the carrier's first EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) capable handset. A more than worthy cell phone in its own right, the mobile is designed to benefit from Verizon Wireless's recently rolled-out third-generation-esque network, which promises average data speeds of 300Kbps to ...

Funny how the 8000 got much better reviews on Cnet and PCmag than the v710. A review doesn't lie. :P

Can't delete preloaded media gallery
Mar 3, 2005, 2:51 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Humm you would think after spending $249 for a supposedly top of the line phone that you would be able to delete the preloaded pics to make more room as they only give you a measly 10mb of built in memory but this is not the case. I think I am going to return my 710 and buy an 8000 which has a massive amount of built in storage space which allows you to delete the preloaded pictures if ...

Re: New firmware, who has it?
Mar 3, 2005, 1:49 PM

The phone doesn't even ring when using a blue tooth headset? so, 1) they cripple blue tooth. 2) only working function with blue tooth is the use of a headset which doesn't even ring????????? but wait, this was supposedly corrected in their firmware update which ironically did more harm than good. Thats like buying a car fully loaded and only to realize after driving off the lot that the power windows will only go down and not up. ...

I like your way of thinking. Its totally true.  But it is unfortunate that there are still true believers in Motorola products. You won't be disappointed with the 8000 I love mine...... No problems or headaches. I love the way businesses frequent phone scoop like phone tec and try every possible way to convince someone by lying to save their sales. LOL And of course they deny it.

Re: About To Buy... for cliff
Mar 3, 2005, 8:26 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Yes, you have 15 days but remember the 8000 has a lot more built in memory than the v710. And the speaker is just as good or if not better than the 710 and also Vcast is the wave of the future which the 710 does not have. And of course the camera and video quality are much better than the 710 even after Motorola supposedly fixed this. Just keep that in mind. and whatever your decision is Cliff ...

Cliff here is another example of all the problems with the 710. Would you want the phone to consume your life with trips back and forth to Verizon for a replacement and or firmware updates that cause more problems? Who needs the headaches.

Cliff like I said the choice is yours. He is lying to you. Just go to PCMAG and CNET they don't lie there. They discuss all the problems with the v710. Even with the supposed fix the camera is no where as good of a quality as the 8000 anyone can tell you that. You may get a V710 with a crooked camera. I wouldn't take a chance. phone tec is a business and he just doesn't want to ...

Wow, now you have me thinking. I just may trade in my 8000 and get the V710. How dare LG design a phone with a voice memo button in the lower half of the phone. Also my other problem with the LG is the holes for the ear piece are located exactly in the middle of the top. And the front display is not exactly centered. Oh and the speaker holes are on the left and right side ...

Cliff, like I suggested stay away from the v710 but it is your choice. Now, look at the guy who advised you to take a look at my posts. He has nothing better to do than make up a name Guitar_man. He started posting negative comments on the 8000 forum in hopes of getting me back for me unveiling the truth about the 710 and all its problems. The v710 has the ability to make and receive calls and works as a phone. Not that shabby if your looking for a phone. I played with the v710 at the Verion store and I was very impressed with the speaker. :D

Cliff, you are welcome and glad I could be of assistance. they never fixed the phones. The camera is still poor quality and the problems are getting worse with the 710. Also, like I mentioned the firmware updates were recalled cause of yet another glitch and if you do update to the new firmware on the 710 they crippled the sd card slot. What is the purpose of a firmware update? To improve the phones functionality not take away ...

Re: About To Buy... for cliff
Mar 2, 2005, 5:08 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Don't even consider a V710. Your better off going with an 8000. You can use the 8000 speaker phone with the flip closed. The speaker on the 8000 is fantastic. Better battery life, Much more built in memory, no crippled blue tooth or firmware updates that cripples the sd card slot. The 8000 has Vcast which is amazing. No ongoing law suit battle pending for the 8000. When LG releases software updates they don't recall them a day later. ...
