Guitar_Guy was just being an @$$. He hates the V710 and everything associated with it, so he gets easily amused by making snide remarks like that one. He was just trying to piss people off.
There is no such thing as a crippled card and you don't have to worry about getting one. Any transflash card will do. Personally, I would suggest www.buy.com as a vendor. They did a great job sending me my 128MB card and it works fine.
