Motorola V710
About To Buy...
i just had some questions about the v710 that i cant seem to find answers on.
Can i use the speakerphone if i close the phone? the store display hangs up if i close it, but i havent really had time to really get into the options to see if i can have it stay on the call if i close the phone if its on speaker phone.
Is there a way to set MP3's as ringtones? if i use the TF card?
I also see a lot of complaints about the camera, are people comparing it to a real digital camera? because im only concerned about the camera if its worse than what i have now in my LG which is i believe 640x480. If its be...

anyone spending so much time on this forum but pitching the 8000 has an ulterior motive. the 8000 forum will show you that there are tons of complaints about the 8000 (from everyone but guitar_guy who probably sells 8000s when he's not in high school).
just read the posts, see who says what and make up your own mind.

The camera is still poor qualityCamera quality was much improved.
the firmware updates were recalled cause of yet another glitchfirmware was never recalled the recall was not a recall it was a false start, those techs were not to flash those phones at that time the software was still in testing.

I hope this helps you see thorough the lies, don't let a bitter ex V710 owner turn you away from a great phone. Try it for 15 days and then decide.
thanks for everybodys input tho

He is lying to you.Show me my lie, I showed you yours.
You may get a V710 with a crooked camera. I wouldn't take a chance. This problem has been ling since fixed.
phone tec is a business and he just doesn't want to lose sales. This sentience doesn't even make sense but I wall respond anyway, I don't sells em, I just fix em, and to be perfectly honest I have seen less V710s than 8000s.
Verizon was ordered to stop flashing the phone a day after.News to me, and thats odd considering I'm the one who flashes the things.
I never lied you lied.Once again show me where.
it did not fix the poor quality problemI didn't say anything about quality, I was referring to the tilt.
There are all posts here saying Verizon stop the flashingThen they are wrong, there was no recall, just a couple to techs who flashed before they were supposed to.
Bottom line phontec is not a tec is a sales agent for selling moto phonesonce again I don't sell phones I fix them. What will it take for you to understand this.

VX8000
The LG VX8000 for Verizon Wireless is the carrier's first EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) capable handset. A more than worthy cell phone in its own right, the mobile is designed to benefit from Verizon Wireless's recently rolled-out third-generation-esque network, which promises average data speeds of 300Kbps to 500Kbps. In addition to boasting high-end extras such as a 1.3-megapixel camera and loads of messaging features, the VX8000's real selling point is its ability to allow users to access Video On Demand news, sports, and entertainment using the carrier's VCast servi...

Cliff, I would advise not listening to guitar_guy. He's posting on both sites, LG 8000 and he's trashing the v710 on this one. He doesn't know how to use the phone and he seems like a real child. I've had the v710 since last November and it's the best phone I've ever had. I use the 810 bluetooth headset and it works great. This phone has the best reception out of all the phones Verizon carries. I'm a sales engineer and my boss rides with me once a week to visit my accounts. We go into hotel engineering departments that are down in the basement, hospitals maintenance departments that are down in the basement etc. My boss has the LG 8000 and he gets no signal in those areas. My phone works perfectly. He's so

*Only for Bluetooth*
If you're not going to use bluetooth, I'd look around.
That said, I use my V710 with bluetooth to get to the internet with my PDA and my laptop, both of which have bluetooth built-in. With that support, I can have my phone and pda with me and do support work for my employer without having to carry around some clunky connection cable. It's also been handy to use the V710 via bluetooth for dial-up modem access when necessary.
I also have a bluetooth headset the HS820 which I love, very lightweight and functional, love not having to put up with wires. I got it for the car, but since it's so light and I don't have to screw with wires, I just wear it all the time. If I were to purchase now...
