Re: Nobody brave enough to purchase this phone?
I am considering it very heavily! I just have to wait till Feb. 5th when my "1st" year will be up. By then there will probably be plenty of good reviews for this phone!!!
Re: It's now available for alltel
now we wait for USCC's release too!!!
Re: I just ordered mines !!!
On another note to this...I'm waiting for it's release with US Cellular here in Iowa!!! Was gonna get the Nokia 6255i now that it's released...but maybe I'll wait now!! By April I can get into another 1 year contract..by then it will be 10 months out of 12.
Re: Frustrated Customer!! WHO'S WITH ME?!?!
I'm almost certain you won't want the SoHo!!
Battery life isn't the greatest. I had a Kyocera once...had to charge it almost daily. And that was with very little use too..
Re: Frustrated Customer!! WHO'S WITH ME?!?!
I just had spoken a couple of weeks ago with a USCC rep out here in Iowa. They said it is "definitely coming"! So I'll wait patiently, (I hope!!!) for it's release!
Re: Thinking of sending it back...
Thanks! I do like the Nokia! I also like the V360..so will do some further study and keep watching here too!!!
Re: Thinking of sending it back...
Now I'm seriously thinking about the Moto V360!!! That looks to be a really good one too! I thought I liked the Samsungs...but...I sold my E315 and am now going to have to replace it either with the Nokia 6101 or the Moto V360.
Re: Available for Cingular? (or Tmobile)
I do know it's about to be released anytime now with IWireless and affiliate company of TMobile. Looks like from what I've seen of this new phone, that it should be a fairly decent one. About $100 at IWireless. Was just at an authorized agent last week. Said it will be out as soon as they have it in stock. Meaning it should be here this week or next..now.
Re: Cleaning and Protection
I have the $3.99 per month equipment protection plan with my TMobile. If you have a mid range to higher dollar range phone I would recommend adding it to your plan! I am planning on upgrading to the Nokia 6101 the first of November! Currently have the Samsung E315. I have had no claims since I started my service 8 months ago!!! Hope that helps! You keep multi-posting as needed! That's how you ...
Re: USCC??
Thats very true! But it is getting close in the final testing stages with USCC. That's what I understood anyhow! Hope I didn't read into it what I "wanted-to-hear"!!! I'm guilty of that at times!
Re: Thinking of sending it back...
Let me know what you think of your new 6101!
I'm gonna get one in less than 30 days myself. It was either that or this phone!
Re: USCC??
hmmm and a USCC rep told me that "it's coming" with USCC. The 6155 that is... and that was just this last week!!!
Re: 6102 on i-wireless.com for $150
I Wireless has both prepaid and post paid calling plans. I know..I've had them in Iowa for 7 years now. Upgraded phones a hundred times...well.. many times! Had both the prepaid and monthly billed plans. Their "prepaid" phone prices, like most carriers, are more expensive than if you take out a one-year or two-year contract.
Re: Any USCC News
Guess I'll have to go ask at my nearby Iowa City/Coralville store and find out what they have to say!! This, I think will be a really sweet phone to have!!!
Re: preferred roaming list update
Do your "*228" update no less than once a month! I do it with my US Cellular. I did it when I had Verizon Wireless as well! Once a month is fine! Hope that helps! :)
Re: ATTN: Albie05
I would also be curious if that were the case with my VX100!! The only way, so far, that it works is when I have my earbud in. Then I can close it and chat away. Then hit a side button and it hangs the call up!
Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
Amen to that! You said it thoroughly!
Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
Yes. I Wireless, ( a TMobile affiliate), is the only GSM carrier in my hometown community. All others are the CDMA network (and what's left of the analog).
Hope that helps!
Re: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT U.S. CELLULAR?
I agree it not only could be, but more than likely "would" be good! I have great luck with my Samsung GSM thru T Mobile. And expect absolutely no less with a CDMA phone "if/when" it's introduced with USCellular!!!
Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
I don't have Verizon. Did have, but don't now. They don't offer "immediate coverage" for my hometown. Only IWireless, USCellular, MidwestWireless, and Sprint(a distant 7 miles to the nearest Sprint tower)!!! That I know for a fact! Worked in the industry.
Re: Ringtones
The Samsung E335 or (when they come out with it!!!) the Samsung E720 would either one be great phones! I really want the E720 but not sure just how soon it will be out! Will probably have to wait till around Christmas time for me to be almost out of my contract!
Hope that helped too!
Re: dropped calls GETTING WORSE!!
I have only had 2 calls drop on my VX6100 in the last 2 months now. I have US Cellular and do the star 228 on mine as well! It works fine!
Re: Ringtones
I have them downloaded on my Samsung E315!!
And will most likely download more thru "TZones"!!! Do you have the "prepaid" or "postpaid" (get a bill in the mail)? Not sure that makes a lot of difference. I get a bill every month. But I also have the "unlimited T Zones" with my monthly plan.
Hope that helps!!!
Re: U.S. Release?
It would be nice to see it released here in Iowa..with TMobile..just not sure how well it will work in "rural" Iowa even with another's GSM carrier providing service to this 90th and plowed ground address! Coverage with GSM here is good! But still I wonder about this phone.
Re: wont work on cingular?
Thanks TJ! I stand duelly "corrected"! I don't claim to know everything! That just proved it! Thanks again!
Re: Hello
I should clarify that I am on the "post-paid" plan. (recieving monthly bills in the mail). My E315 has great service...and I was saying that perhaps there is a difference as was stated earlier in previous postings, that there were software or programming differences in each version of the phone for T Mobile.
Re: messaging
First of all, do you have a 'text', or 'picture text' package with your service provider? That might be part of it! I found that out with my carrier. USCC in the midwest. I cannot send a picture message, since I don't have that in my current plan. But, I can send text messages without any problem.
Come on TMobile get on the stick!!!
Come on now TMobile! Get on the stick and get this released. Will be a great upgrade from the E720. I'll gladly wait till around Christmas time if it's been released by then to upgrade from my E315!
Re: Hello
Wondering if they have slightly different software on the prepaid vs. the post-paid which is what I have. Looks like it will be an "alright" phone either way!
Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
Okay..now I'll be even more specific! For those of you who do not live in the state of Iowa!!!!! I do happen to know that CDMA and TDMA are the largest cellular digital networks here! GSM is most definitely here and in a growing way as I said previously. But since I'm from here, been here, etc., I think I'm certain I know what I'm talking about for this state!!! Come on out! Glad to ...
Re: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT U.S. CELLULAR?
I have yet to talk to either my sales rep at the "company" USCC store, or an "authorized" agent in my town yet..but intend to very soon!
Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
Verizon, thru roaming agreements with other CDMA and TDMA carriers, has the largest coverage area out there at this time. Both companies like Cingular and TMobile and other affiliates are GSM in the US. They didn't used to be as big, but are making great strides in building coverage around the US. Here in the midwest where I live, GSM is by no means as big yet as the TDMA and CDMA carriers. Like I said, they ...
new addition
Would be most definitely a welcome addition yet to the "continued growing" line up for TMobile!
Gonna be a nice one!
This looks to be one really nice phone! Beings as it's the 900 Mhz model, here's hoping for sure that it will be for TMobile! Outta be really something with the new 2 MP camera!
Re: wont work on cingular?
Cingular would have to make it (program it), to work on the 850 mhz frequency that Cingular uses!
Cingular uses 850 Mhz phones.
TMobile uses 900 Mhz.
Re: wont work on cingular?
TMobile uses the 900 Mhz frequency band which this phone is. Cingular is still on the 850 Mhz. band. Probably won't take much to make it work though.
Re: Force Digital or Analog Mode?
Well? I tried that on my US Cellular VX6100. It gave me the "wrong code" screen. So until I get back to my USCC dealer I'll not try that again. That must work for those on VZW and not us on USCC.
Re: Force Digital or Analog Mode?
I have the VX6100 with USCellular. My menu lets me only choose between "home only, automatic A, and automatic B". I don't have the option in mine to program it to "analog only" like some other brands do. I have seen it several times, switch between analog and the 1X digital. Never had any trouble with mine anyhow.
Re: Saw picture at T-mobile today
Count me as one of the "waiters" too! I've got to wait for another 4 months yet before I can get any kind of a price break in my contract yet! But it will be worth the wait...as they may have worked out more of the bugs by then..Nokia that is. Looking forwards to it arriving!
Re: Honest Input Please!
First of all, this LG VX6100 does have analog mode! Mine has switched into it a few times already! Right here in my hometown even with USCC service! Mine has not dropped any calls as of yet. I've had service with USCC in the remotest areas here in Iowa away from where I live! I'm wondering if maybe it's the phone itself? You might want to just exchange it and try that. ...
