😢 my nokia 6101 will no longer turn on. i plugged it into my wall charger a few days ago n it turned on n then turned back off. since then it will not turn on anymore. any help/ideas?

Does ANYONE know how to get free ringtones onto this phone. What about wal-mart.com Is there a way to use instant messenger to send ringtones. I'm not trying to pay everytime I want a new ringtone. There has to be a way. Get back at me if you find a way. 😁

just wondering if this phone has the capability to apply a ringtone to an individual contact. haven't figured it out yet.... n e ideas?

okay, this is driving me nuts so someone help! i use 'notes' in the calendar so that i'm reminded about picking up / dropping off times for all my kids stuff. anyhow, the tone that plays is SO SOFT and i rarely hear the alert. i tried changing the tone in the alarm settings, but this does not seem to affect the alert for notes. any help???

I can't seem to find how to assign ringtones to different people...

I have had the 6102 since the first day it came out. Now the black piece over the antenna has fallen off and a lot of the paint is wearing off as well. It hasn't been abused or anything just wear and tear from being in a pocket if any buddy else is having this problem can they please respond.

i was wondering if 6102 supports bluetooth and if not what do u think is a good gsm phone i could get 👀 👀

Just purchased a used Nokia 6102 for Cingular network. Phone "looks" almost new. When I insert my ACTIVE Cingular SIM card, display still asks to "Insert Smart Chip". Also, noticed that the battery charge indicator COLOR is RED. On my other phone it's BLUE. I swapped batteries, but there is NO change. Any suggestions and comments will be appreciated.

Starting the other day, a new icon appears in the upper left corner of the clock/screensaver on the miniscreen. It looks like a phone handset with an arrow pointing at it from the left. It also appears in the clock screensaver on the main screen if the phone is left open.

I have no idea what it means or how to get rid of it. I've tried resetting the phone, deleted all messages, removed all call forwarding, no dice.

Any ideas?

Hi guys, hope someone is able to solve this for me.

I bought I brand new Nokia 6102b intended for the Cingular network and pre-loaded with all of its settings. I unlocked the phone in order to pop in my SIM and use it on my home network (Rogers Wireless here in Canada).

I performed a soft reset, but we're still on Cingular default settings.

In terms of general functionality (calls, camera & text), everything is working fine and dandy, but I can't get a few things to work:

1. I cannot edit the mobile browser settings in order to make it compatible with my local Rogers GPRS (WAP?) internet -- that is, it automatically dials the Cingular service when I hold "0". I called Rogers and they're not willing walk me through erasing th...

How do you turn off the ascending ringtone?

What is server sync exactly? Is it the same as pc sync?

I can upgrade this next month and i was thinking about getting this phone but i was wondering how good the reception is on this phone because the phone i have now gets ok reception but it isn't the greatest and i live in the country so that don't help however my relatives get great reception with there phones. any input will be appreciated thanks

I can't get my 6101 to connect to my PC via infrared. I start infrared via the menu, but the PC and phone never connect to one another. Is there some setting somewhere that might be messing me up?

Anyone else having problems connecting their 61010 or 6102 to their PC using a CA-42 (USB)? I am running WIN XP.

I just got my Nokia 6102 phone and can't quite figure out how to upload the pictures I took with the camera phone to my PC.

What software/hardware do I need?

Looking at other postings in the forum, seems I can either use a data cable or infrared adaptor. Which is better? Do I need the Nokia PC Suite for either method? Can I download this suite from Nokia's website?

Any info is appreciated.

The wall charger for my new 6102 phone seems to have shorted out internally, causing the wall outlet to burn up as well as the wires in the box. Not good. Not good at all.

I know this charger is used for the 6101 too, but I don't know if any other phones use the same charger (AC-3U). I just wanted to post the warning to keep an eye (or nose?) out for this problem. Hopefully it is just an isolated problem with the one that I had.

Does anyone know how to change the lenght of your ringtone? Like from 15 sec to 30 sec?
