I was on Sprint's website today and there is a phone called the IP-830W. It's a smartphone made by Samsung (obviously). I called to the store in my area to see about getting it, but she checked all of the stores around in the KC area and none of them had it. Online it doesn't say whether or not it has a camera. You have poor grammar. It's THEIR, not there (as in a place). Yes, Cingular has does come in last with innovative design of phones. But, the things that THEIR phones do.... wow. Word to your mother. Eloquently put and makes complete sense. Companies aren't obligated to keep you on. Especially if you don't have a signed contract with them stating that Company X will sell said product for x amount of months or years. It sucks that the loyalty virtue is long gone. I know from my experience working indirect and at a COR store (used to work indirect, now work COR store) that the indirect is basically a look alike Cing store. The only difference is on the door where it says "authorized agent." We even wore Cingular shirts! Like you said, I think that markets are different. I don't know what the percentage is here, but I only get about 5-10% of customers asking about unlimited text packages. And those are the kids on their parents' accounts wanting to put it on without the parents knowing! I think Cingular has a more mature market of customers, as opposed to T-Mobile.... meaning that the age of users are older with us than T-Mobile. I called Sprint the other ...

We don't have techs in the store. But there are some smart people that work in some of the stores that know how to remove the screen and clean the dust. I personally think that it's a bogus reason to exchange a phone, because it's gotten dust inside.

Just because the phone has been (or will be) discontinued does not mean that they won't have any RAZRs in stock. We all know that when you do an XBM, the phones that are sent as replacement models are refurbished phones in about 95% of all situations. Just because the phone won't be offered in store or online anymore does not mean that the XBM warehouse will be out of stock as well. As for seeing the phone replaced ...

These are things I always push when selling PTT, and usually, it works and a customer will try it for a month: PTT is instantaneous. You don't have to wait for someone to maybe answer their phone. I like to tell wives, "your husband has to listen to you no matter what." You can talk to multiple people on PTT. You can connect to all of your family members at once (hubby, son, daughter, mom) to tell them when the bbq ...

werd. btw, sprint charges that upgrade fee to make "an even playing field for new and existing customers" which i think is b.s. i waived it as often as i could and plan on doing the same thing at cingular. it's just good business. they don't need that extra $35.00

Bad for them, good for us. I love Sprint, worked for 'em for 2 years. Great phones and great service where I live (KC area) and the Fair and Flexible plan is the bomb. They, however, are going to lose a ton of customers nitpicking how they do. This isn't the first time, and won't be the last time. Come on over to Cingular! I won't mind taking their money at all!

I've known a couple of old coworkers (when I worked for Sprint) to do this. It's pretty shady, I was never able to figure it out. I think that they just put other credits onto the account to compensate for paying the etf.

I personally think that although they aren't too helpful in stores at times, you get an actual receipt that says what was added or removed, so that you know it's been done. i called into customer care and they effed up my account big time. I went to a store and got a receipt and everything was a-okay! hope this helps.

I always tell customers that you pay a month in advance so if you ever do anything as blaphemous as cancelling service with us, you will not have a final bill because you pay for the service before you use it. That usually makes them laugh a little bit and they settle with that answer. Hope this helps a little. :D

That's a great idea! I have never done a business plan before though (I was always promoted from within). Could you elaborate as to what a business plan entails? Again, I have never done one of those. I am sure that would be pretty impressive at an interview. Thanks a lot to you both for the advice! :D

I would like to say that I read this entire post and found it very informative. I honestly didn't know some of this stuff. I always thought that I was democratic because that's how I voted, but I think that I am more Libertarian. Very interesting. Thank you!

You do not need to yell..... I am sorry if I gave a customer misinformation. At any rate, they still upgraded with me. They aren't your customers to deal with, they are my customers to retain. If I need to tell them that VZW and everyone else also charges an upgrade fee, I will. Some people may not agree with that, but it happens everyday at every store. Sorry you couldn't get my commission.

I once had pretty bad credit and have paid for it. I couldn't get a loan and had a huge deposit for a cell phone. I decided to clean that up and be an ADULT. Haven't had any issues since. People who have bad credit are obviously irresponsible and are usually the people coming into the store complaining because we've "done messed they bill up aggin (yes, I spelled aggin right)." I think that my favorite right now is when customers get upset about the upgrade fee. "Why are they charging me to upgrade my phone when I've had service for XX years?!
