In the south east, its not about speed, its about coverage. VZW just doesn't have the same coverage as far as EV-DO Rev A goes. Sprint beats them hands down. When working for sprint, a quarter of all my activations were from air-cards. Out of that amount that switch carriers for data it was about a 70% att to 30% VZW. All of the VZW customers stated it was all due to coverage, not ...

So this is basically an FM modulator that plays the music from your phone to an FM channel? Thats kinda silly due to the poor quality of FM. Its going to be like one of those ipod or dvd adapters that plays it through your stereo via FM and any time you travel under a power line get a boost of static! Its nice to see the phone functions also built into the device but the static would ...

WTF is wrong with these people complaining about the mega-pixel of a cell phone?? I do a little photography on the side and feel that its BS to complain about the mega-pixel in a cell phone when you could just purchase a dang digital camera! The digital camera is not only going to cost less, but you can even get higher than 5 mega-pixel. As far as why? Probably the major factor in basic business, price. ...

To start off with, a company doesn't have the capability to start such a service with current customers due to contracts and one major fact, the phones do not have the software built into the OS. I'm surprised everyone who has posted hasn't determined this while stating such things as class-action lawsuits and all that BS. If a pre-paid service does this, it will be apart of the service agreement you agree to to use the service. ...

ROFL!! If that were true, then Sprint & VZW wouldn't have tri-mode phones. You have two CDMA bands (analog/digital) and one EVDO band. The different bands on GSM are for analog/digital/international/edge. Its going to be the same when WiMAX comes out for Sprint. I think wombough said it best.. Its as GSM as Wimax is CDMA.

You are correct in stating that it was accepted by the GSMA Global Standard group but just because its accepted by that group doesn't mean its GSM. Its only considered as a 4g network architecture technology, not a 4GSM. The actual standard is called 3GPP Release 8. What you guys get confused is the fact the GSM is a voice only handling part of a network. The data runs on different spectrum's. This is ...

The reason why Sprint and VZW can't roam of each others data network is actually not due to signing any deal. When I worked for sprint I found that their setup for EVDO was different. Yes it was the same technology but the phones would have to be configured when switching networks.

When will you guys learn that LTE is NOT GSM. Its just a 4g data network. One of the main reasons why VZW is going to LTE is due the their main competitor ATT. Since ATT will also have LTE, they can roam off each other which will boost the size of the LTE network once both companies have it up and running. But VZW is NOT switching to GSM, they have and will always ...

This does not constitute a change in the TOS. A change in the TOS would only be about the ETF, Activation fees, or they add/remove an important part of the current TOS. Sprint's TOS only includes information about the amount of time for term of use, ETF, lawyer mumbo-jumbo about arbitration, and activation fees. These are so called state/fed taxes that they are changing the way they bill.

Again, LTE is not GSM. Just like WiMAX isn't CDMA. They are just a connections for 4G technology. Now, one day, I could see every carrier getting ride of 2G and 3G due to the fact that voice can also be carried on the high speed connection. But by the time that happens, 5G will probably be out.

Every company goes through a downside and the true testament of a company is when they come out of one. Yes, Sprint is hurting bad but everyone here has this thing with comparing it to the Titanic or some other sinking ship. If you've ever taken a business class in college you would learn that almost ALL companies go through this. Its the Make it or Break it concept. Apple went through the same issue ...
