Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

So I've heard June 27 and May 24th as possible release dates. Phonescoop is still saying May. Anyone want to clarify? My contract is up in July so I have some time to kill before I really need to make a decision.

If anyone can clarify please do. All ideas welcome.



O yea, Natas, you forget that some of us are tied into VZW through family share accounts, and that so many of our friends use it that it makes sense to have it. Also, in my area the coverage for Cingular, Sprint, Nextel all suck. VZW is the only good choice for me.

So rather than bashing the E815, just go away. Some of us are excited about this phone's release even though it may not have all the features simply because it is a great phone. So rather than be a dick...

Anyone get MPT for the 815 yet? I'm looking for a copy for mine.

Phone Scoop still shows this phone being available May 2005. Any chance we will see this phone in the next week? If so, I'm excited......

I enjoy reading your posts very much. I'd really like to know what kind of phone or phones you use, and what you like and dislike about them. I currently use the LG VX10. It's small, it works, it's indestructable. It's also pretty old, and I'm trying to use the info on this forum to research my next phone. Your insight would be appreciated. 🙂

1) why being so tech savvy are you not angry about obex being diabled?? You guys really don't know what can be done with it do you??

2) If verizon is willing to disable obex, what else in the future will you miss out on. Don't you care????

3) you guys are lame for being all excited because your wallpaper will now show up on your front display. OMG people are you that lame. You act like this is the first phone that has this option.

Yes verizon has limited amounts of phones to choose from, and yes its a somewhat cool phone. BUT DONT support verizon by buying any so call BLUETOOTH phones people.

For those of you who are testing an E815, I have some simple questions to ask you. I'm a Sprint customer at the moment, and I'm switching to Verizon Wireless when this phone comes out. I've read about the love/hate relationship people are having with the V710, so I'm hoping some of you can answer my questions. First: Can MP3s be set as ringtones? Just wanted to know out of curiosity. Second: How much better is the E815 over the V710 overall? Third: I understand the E815 is a cell phone, not a laptop like most people think. How does it rank in your own personal opinions vs. LG's VX-8000? Thanks.

Can this phone operate on the Sprint Network?

For those of you that has the E815 already, what is your software version? Mine is 8720_01.14.00. I want to do a comparison and see if the version are the same on all the engineering demo and if the BT is fully functional on these model. I know for a fact that most of the feature are fully functional, just not sure if all are, and I know the production model willl probably be crippled, and I'm debating whether or not to keep mine after I get it activated (if ever), but if the engineering demo is not, then I'll probably keep it for sure. Also, is your engineering demo model pretty stable?

I just relized that the E815 does not have Email client...which I think means you cannot Email on the phone. Can anyone verify this for me 😕

Ok, well as you might already know, I have more pics from the E815 camera. Here's the catch, the pics arent really from the E815 camera, but they are from the V635 camera, supposedly they are both supposed to use the same kinda of camera...so why not post those too...if not thats ok just lemme know if ya want em...(ik ik I'm such a geek)

Alright guys, I need your help. I have been using my old v60c as a replacement for my a670 that I lost. The v60's antennae broke today, and VZW cannot fix it. I am in desperate need of a new phone. I am strongly considering getting the samsung a890 tonight, because I don't think I can wait for the e815. Any suggestions? I know you guys do. Thanks.

The 815 probably will NOT be released because apparently Motorola has pissed off Verizon somehow AND he also clearly stated that Verizon WILL NOT accept the E815 with the current charger port it comes with. The tech stated that future ports will be arriving with a USB type charger port.

I myself have decided against the E 815 simply because of the the delay in it's arrival.

The real delay in this phone is that Verizon has made a error big surprise! They are backed up in all 3 of their warehouses with 1 single phone at least 1 phone to my knowledge and is causing problems because they decided to release it to businesses first and not to the public. So until they get rid of some of this stock they have no room for any new stock. I just think its pretty sad that 1 single phone has all 3 of their warehouses overstocked. Lets hope they can get rid of this phone its the A840 for those who are wondering. This is the exact reason they need to release the phone to everyone at once!
