Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I went into my local Verizon store and asked one of the sales reps what the release date on the E815 was and she said 6/25!!!!!!! I hope that is true because right now I have the lg 8000 and I have had so much problems with it so one of the supervisors at customer service said that they will replace my phone with this one at no charge.

I call the main call center for Verizon *611 and i tell them about my battery problem and they said they would send me out a phone but they don't even have refurbished V710's to send out anymore so they should have brand new V710's to send out Thursday and they will call me and let me know than if they have one in to send me. This is crazy never had to go through something like this before! Also has anyone else notice on Motorolas website they are getting rid of all their old bluetooth headsets and starting to get new ones i cant wait for the H500!

I am considering Switching over to Verizon and if I do this will be the phone I choose. I was hearing several ppl have demo phones and have heard conflicting info about OBEX features and this phone.
I know VWZ crippled it in the 710 but i have heard reports that they will enable it for the E815. This doesn't fit with Verizon and there profit hungry web services, but i figured it might be possible.
I am already bummed about the los of analog and if OBEX is disabled still i will prolly stay with cingular and maybe go with the sony ericson S710. Having to do a seem edit and mess weith my phones programming doesn't sound like something I should have to put up wth to use my phone the way it is designed....

I am having a heck of a time with my transflash card i cant get music to transfer or anything i had someone on here give me directions on how to format it and i did it but i don't think they were correct i have a 256mb sandisk transflash card is someone could help me out with this i would appreciate it! I don't know if i need to download additional programs or what!

I literally just got back from my local verizon store (Horsham, PA - suburb of Philadelphia). I inquired about the release of the e815. Interestingly enough, the rep I was working with gave me that "what are talking about" look. However the rep next to him jump in and said "I heard next month". Then mysteriously the rep I was originally working with - "oh - we have a demo model of that phone here already". So that had a demo model behind the counter that he let me looked at.

For those of you wondering about the size, charging port, etc. everything is exactly the same as the V710 -it's the exact same size and that same old crappy charging port. The rep told me everything would be exactly the same as the v710 except the video featur...

Does anyone know whether the e815 will be able to sync with outlook?

I have been waiting like the rest of you for the new Bluetooth phones to arrive. Cingular, does offer more advanced phones now, but I remember before the recent merger that their service was inferior to Verizon. Is that the case now?

Secondly, I currently own and use the Vx 7000 and enjoy its menus and ease of use. In a perfect world, I would like to upgrade to the Vx 8100 now to connect to my Jeep Grand Cherokee. So my question is, do feel the E815 is superior or not to Vx 8100?

that website lists the clips that VCAST provides, choose one and click "details" and it will come up with the phones that work with VCAST and verizon, phones that havnt come out yet are on there including the moto E815, lg vx8100, LG VX9800, Samsung SCH-a950, Samsung SCH-a970!! pretty cool!!

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the E 815 like the rest of you. I know the V 710 will connect with Jeep’s U-connect system in the GC. Will the E 815 be able to do the same? 😎

I just checked out our Approved device list in infomanger (I am CS), it was updated 6/16 and the E815 is on our list now!

So when is it comin out and how much will it cost. Plus will it replace the v710???

Does anyone know if they have changed the charging port on this phone from the old style used on the V710?

I have been keeping an eye out on ebay for this phone to start being for sale. A little over a month ago I saw 3 on eBay and they all sold for about 500 each. There is one on eBay right now, the buy it now option is for $550 ... not sure if this is a legitament auction but, who knows...Its a one day auction and if this phone retails for about 200-300 someone is going to make a nice profit on this auction...

Stopped last night at my local store and waited for the standard "sales pounce" from a hungry employee- within 10 seconds I was pounced upon and I when asked if I needed help I said, you what can you tell me about the E815? I tell you the guy looked like I had just asked for a tube TV or something- he said he had not heard anything about ANY new Motorola phones and that was probably a brand new phone and due the extensive testing that Verizon required it would probably be 7-10 months before they got the phone- -but to keep and eye on the web page-

I just recieved the new rebate forms from VZW there is a 50.00 mail in rebate on the e815 and the 8100 dates the rebate is valid are june 20th through aug 28th 05 so it should only be a few weeks for the phone but unfortantly still no info in infocenter so my guess its going to be later than 7/7 since that is the most recent phone in infocenter btw that is the new I730

I am definately getting this phone, over the LG vx8100, but I only have one gripe.... there are no mp3/video play/pause/ff/rewind buttons on the outside of the phone. Even my old audiovox had one button for mp3 play and pause on the outside. It's not a huge deal but it stinks they didn't add this... does this mean that you can't play videos on the outside of the screen like the vx8100 will?
