Verizon Rep

Stopped last night at my local store and waited for the standard "sales pounce" from a hungry employee- within 10 seconds I was pounced upon and I when asked if I needed help I said, you what can you tell me about the E815? I tell you the guy looked like I had just asked for a tube TV or something- he said he had not heard anything about ANY new Motorola phones and that was probably a brand new phone and due the extensive testing that Verizon required it would probably be 7-10 months before they got the phone- -but to keep and eye on the web page-

At this point I thanked him and left the store-either Verizon has some of the worst internal communications around, or they will continue to sell cell phones like most places hawk used cars- a...

Verizon employees at the store level don't know anything about new phones until about two weeks prior to release. Unless the actively search the web etc. so most of the people you talk to wont know jack s#!+. I can tell you that it is on its way and the late June prediction is a good one.

You think they would be interested enough in what they were selling to surf the web and get up to date on the models they will be selling. If I were selling phones I'd feel like an idiot if the customer knew more than me!

yes, but if you were that smart maybe you wouldn't be selling phones at a Verizon store...more likely you'd work at Radio Shack instead and have a clue

It never seems to amaze me on how under educated Verizon employees really are. Seriously its like everytime I'm in a corporate store or at a Verizon booth in a mall its like they don't even have a clue what they are even doing. So if they don't even have a clue on what they are doing at the present time what makes me think they will ever know what they will know they will do in the future? Verizon is so chop chop i just had a huge blow out even with a global phone i guess in the end i wasn't suppose to get it because i didn't meet the qualifications for it? Since when did you have to meet qualifications to get a phone I've had their service for 5 years now! Than if a new phone does come out the employees only have a couple days notice p...

if the global phone you're referring to is the moto a840, it's only released to business channels right now. Therefore, if you are not a corporate business customer, you don't meet said qualifications. That goes even for me, a dealer. My boss wanted that phone and was told he could not. This is a 9 year customer and 7 year dealer, so don't feel too bad. I can understand your disappointment with the sales reps, though. That always upsets me when I want to buy something and some half-wit waterhead only knows how to deposit their paycheck. Most reps i've dealt with prior to being in the industry have been great, but I'cve had my share of twits along the way as well

I don't know what Radio Shack stores you visit but the ones I go to (and have worked at) the employees know less about what they are selling than any VZW rep I have known. I was almost ashamed to work at Radio Shack, I knew more than anyone there, including the manager, about everything there. I even impressed the RS DM by using the simple term discreet components.

I don't even go to Radio Shack i honestly try and stay away from those stores. I just deal with Verizon stores themselves so in case i ever have a problem i can deal with Verizon and not have to go through a thousand people. Radio Shack sells phone for different companies for the times i have been in there i have had to laugh to see a Radio Shack employee get a phone and service right i honestly don't think its what they are cut out to do nothing against them. I kind of feel bad for them.

While there are many poor reps of a radioshack salesperson, if you talk to a good one, you will leave the store informed and with most of your questions answered. We pride ourselves of the fact that EVERY person that has been in the Verizon store across the parking lot that comes into our store says that we are more pleasant to deal with and are more helpful. We dont make you sign in on a clipboard and even try to help you if you arent there to buy something. I know that my coworkers and I can figure our ways through any cell phone you put in our hands, and solve your problem if its fixable. As for our managers and DMs being stupid and easily impressed, let me inform you that you dont need a college education to get far in RS, all you ne...

😁

while this is off topic- please forgive- I agree 110% about Radio Shack-- they hire sales people- not so much Tech folks-- and I guess it really comes down to the samething at Verizon- sales people not tech folk- I remember a friend of mine who worked at RS- had a degree in history, knew nothing about electronics at all- but the customers loved him and that was enough for management-

Tough to find anyone who will disagree with this thread! I went into a Radio Shack store a month ago trying to hopefully weasel out some info on the E815. As clueless as he was about the phone, the 45 year-old idiot across the counter tried to convince me that Motorola was worse than LG or Samsung. Plus, he tried to sell me a second-rate VX6100. Makes you wonder is RS employees should go through some sort of training/brain transplant before trying to convince people that their bluetooth phones come with a complimentary 1.21 GigaWatt Flux Capacitor, and can connect wirelessly with a Delorian to go "Back to the Future"...
GREAT SCOTT!!!!

I don't know what Motorola was thinking giving the phones to Radio Shack 2 weeks before they release them to other people and places. But of course i don't agree with a lot that Motorola does anyways. Like why America is last to get most of the cell phones. I put part of the blame on the companies like Radio Shack and Verizon and the other Cell Phone companies because they give a employee a good 4 or 5 day notice to know everything about a bunch of phones before those phones are released. It also seems like cell phone companies are trying to sell less Motorola and more LG and Samsung and you know when they try to sell more Nokia we are ALL in big trouble! 🤣

RadioShack used to buy phones directly from all manufacturers, it wasn't until last year that RadioShack rekindled their agreement with Verizon Wireless to buy phones through them. Motorola however is the exception to the rule. RadioShack can now buy their Motorola handsets directly from them and release them earlier since its them that own the phones. Samsung currently has a deal with them on the a570 handset which was already released at RadioShack two weeks ago.
