On Hand Experience with the Voyager

😁
I got some hands on with the Voyager. It is a slick phone but it will attract fingerprints and will scratch easily if not taken care of or put inside a case. Response time for the touch screen is good and some of the display themes look like the Prada phone. Thank god it has a calibration setting. It allows you to reset the touch screen just like pdas and make it more accurate.
It wasn't live with service so there's still no word on the browser but like I stated before in one of my responses, it wont be $60. it more likely be under Vcast or the Mobile Tv package. It will launch with a lot of preorders so buy yours early!!!!!

Just tested...minor flaw

The camera is decent:

Buuut it's much worse than the enV's. Kind of disappointing. But for most who never owned the enV, it will be a huge improvement.

HTML Browser info

The browser has been able to open up several web pages including internet banking sites! In fact, when testing it against the web browser in windows devices it has been able to open up pages that the windows phones couldn't and render pages to look better on the Voyager. Here is a link for information on the browser

Service Menu

as expected this is following the same trend as recent LG phones. you can only access the menu with the phone open
dial ##776472610000 send
000000

I didn't see much to really mess with in this menu aside from network selection which is usually a bad idea to touch anyway.

you can view your web homepage but i can't seem to change it.

there is also an option called
"W2BI - CHARGINGPOPUP"
you have options for popup enable or popup disable. couldn't see any difference when i changed settings and plugged in the charger. maybe it has something to do with how the phone alerts you that it needs charged. we'll see.

loving the phone so far, though it takes a bit of getting used to.

Ive got a new one for ya

Does the Voyager send 30 second video clips like the EnV? And for those who dont know it you can take 42 second video clips and send with the Env. Video mode options set to for storage and as long as you stop before 42 seconds it will work and send. I always try to stop by 40 secs.

Here is the latest news on release date...

So I called the store here in CSprings to see if they had a demo to play with (seeing how all you guys have got to play with one) and they said no, but they would probably be getting one next week...before it gets released after thanksgiving.......I told her the website said that it is getting released on the 21st, and she said no, it will be after thanksgiving... I think she was either wrong or was telling me the store release date...anyways, I would as one of the verizon people on here, but it seems none of them have the correct answer...they sure are doing a horrible job with the lack of information they are supplying their own employees.

Got to see one today :)

Went to my local VZW store. They did not have a working model but did have the dummie phone. I at least got to handle the phone. Got to feel the size, see the size of the keyboard, compare it to the ENV and such.

I am very glad I pre-ordered it and am pretty sure it will stay with me for awhile πŸ™‚

It is slightly larger than the ENV, the keyboard is slightly larger than the ENV. Keyboard is going to be very user friendly. Although I did not get the chance to test the touch screen, it looks awesome and the icons are very well sized and placed.

Only negative I have is, I think it will be hard for me to tell where the top of the phone is. At first at leastπŸ™‚ lol

The rep expected the real phone to arrive at the store tomorrow, 1...

Unlock button

Is the unlock button a touch button on the touch screen? If so, and seeing as the purpose is to prevent unwanted keypresses while in pocket etc, doesn't that mean it could accidentally be unlocked? (and then unwanted keypresses) I saw in the videos an unlock switch but also what appeared to be an unlock button on the touch screen.

Best Phone on VZW....Possibly Ever

I just got done visiting my rep at a store in MN here, and all I can say is: AMAZING!!!

I have been glued to the two bulletins for VZW and the Voyager itself for the past 6-8 weeks, so I am fully aware of the concerns and topics of discussion about the phone, and as such, I am here to give you my review of this masterpiece as I was playing with that and the Venus for about an hour today.

Pros: Amazing clarity on both the outer/touchscreen and inside, the screens are much bigger than the enV (which is what I currently have), very smooth look and feel, TV service is great, full HTML is great, camera is great, touchscreen is smooth/responsive/second
to none, and the keyboard is bigger and much improved from the enV model.

Cons: Stand...

Got to play with one!!!

I got to with the Venus and the Voyager today and all I have to say is WOW!! I only had the voyager for about 10 minutes or so but I had enough time to use the web browser and watch some TV. The touch screen on the front was very easy to use and intuitive and the inside menu was standard VZW but with a nicer overall look. One improvment on the TV menu is that when you pull up the program guide you can still watch the current channel you have it on the upper right corner of the screen. The only thing I wish it had was outside speakers but I'll probably use headphones on when I get mine so its not a big issue.

Hopefully I'll have some more play time with it in the next few days to work out the sync and email features and explore more page...

"Full HTML Browser"????

Ok So I literally just spent 57 minutes on the phone with VZW and NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS DANG PHONE! πŸ‘Ώ I got 3 differnt explanantions

So can someone PLEASE clarify some things for me. I do not understand what FULL HMTL means. Does this mean I can g2 myspace/facebook and phonescoop/engadget? and it will give me the REAL web? or is it g2b the ghetto web 2.0 I have on my LG 8300 that gives me the bear minimum on weather and news, etc.

And hypothetically, if it is real web what does that mean for pricing? The premium pricing family share plan is OUT OF CONTROL. 29.99 to add a line? My family doesnt need that. All they know how to do is turn the phone on and off. And does the 44.99 plan count?/is it necessary for this phone? ...
