CTI-Miami ETA: Apr 6, 2007

Perhaps someone already mentioned this, but CTI-Miami expects to get the N75 in on Apr. 6, 2007, and is selling them on a preorder basis for 406.99 unlocked.

It's on its way, folks... ๐Ÿ™‚

And, the phone is right on CTI-Miami's Home page: http://www.cti-miami.com/

Saw a N75 yesterday

Went to my local Cingular store yesterday in Vero Beach, FL. The guy had a non-working N75 under the counter. Very nice feel!! He told me that he got it in a week or 2 ago and expected to get the real thing by June at the latest but really felt they would arrive by mid April. He said his pricing sheet showed them to be $250 with a 2 year contract and a $50 rebate on top of that. He also mentioned he liked the Iphone better but admitted he had not used a working N75. He said that usually once that received a prototype they would get the real phones within 4 weeks. Sounds like it should be soon!

N75 Due at N-E on March 22, 2007

Check this out: Negri Electronics says it will have the N75 in stock on March 22, 2007.

That's the good news.

The bad news is, at least for now, they're selling it for 588 bucks.

Latest Phone on ebaY

Another unlocked N75 has popped up on ebaY and is the bid is up to $510.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2 ... »

One of the ebaY members asked where he got the phone and his reply was:

I'm sorry that was my mistake I forgot to answer that part of the question. Our main distributor is also a NOKIA PARTNER, so they get the unbranded factory unlocked Nokia phones 3-5 weeks before the carriers release them.

If this is true, this means that Cingular will release the phone sometime around the first week of April.

Did anybody notice AT&T will get this phone

Did anybody notice that it says AT&T will have this phone under info tab. So my question would be? Can we still buy an at&t phone through a cingular store or website? Or will it be a first phone that you have to purchase with a new contract through AT&T?????

Sooner than later perhaps?

According to ebay item 270096788733 The guy won the phone yesterday at a charity auction (cingy supposedly a sponsor) Why would they donate a phone they weren;t going to release? ๐Ÿคจ

On ebay but is it real?

Check it out on ebay -- item number 320088091772 . But there's some controversy if it's real since it's the same pictures that showed up on boygeniusreport.com yesterday.

DRM Indemnification

The N75 was expected to be released the end of February or beginning of March which is why it is on the price list and rebate form. Unfortunlately Nokia has not received Indemnification from Microsoft to use DRM.

Until they get that piece of paper signed by Micorsofts lawyers we will not see the N75 from Cingular.

delay "official?"

Well this is a real bummer - Boy Genius is reporting a delay by Cingular. See http://www.boygeniusreport.com/.

Still waiting?

I was once hopeful but I gave up. I doubt this phone will ever see the light of day the way this release has been handled.

I went ahead and bought the V3xx and I have to say that I am really happy. Just about all my major gripes with the original RAZR have been fixed and I am totally loving the 3G.

Good luck to those of you who try and stick it out though.

New reason for delay ...

๐Ÿ™„ According to the local Cingy store in Grand Rapids ... the N75 has been delayed because of rebranding with AT&
T inplace of Cingular...She told me they were ready to go, but had to be sent back... Can't vouch for the accuracy...she said they'd be ready in May...which seems to be the latest timeframe...

N75 Latest and More

Talked with a few Cingular guys on upcoming phone releases and why the delays? I was told they are preparing the N75 for release right now and it may be on the website first, maybe as soon as Friday. But with that news they also said Cingular are set to release new updates to the Network to run at a faster data rate, which happens in summer 2007. That release has been delaying most of the new higher tech phone release dates so we still could wait to closer to that network upgrade, But to make choices worse or better the N95 had been approved at Cingular and could be released by year end.

Forget it, I'm buying a Treo 750.

Screw Cingular. They'll never give us what we want in time. Just crippled, basically soon to be outdated phones by the time they are released. I'll stick to month to month and buy my phones off eBay from now on. I'd rather pay a little more for the phone then commit to them for another contract. They'll probably figure out how to delay and cripple the iPhone as well. Hopefully Apple kicks them to the curb (or at least works with other carriers) by the time the second generation iPhone is released. I'd be royally pissed if I were Nokia. They do make great phones and could sell boatloads of them. Do I want a Treo? No, but it's the best available option out there for my needs and unfortunately Cingular's coverage (while crappy) is sti...

N75 Out (for now), 6126 In

According to my VRS (Very Reputable Source), the N75 is definitely on hold for now.

HOWEVER, the 6126 is "back in action", has ALREADY been approved, and should be out in a couple of weeks.

Not that there's any comparison, but just an FYI.

Buying the N75 unlocked

I am very curius how many people out there would prefer buying the unlocked N75 instead of the Cingular version. I am contemplating buying the unlocked version - untouched, unmarked, and unmodified from Nokia. Past phones that I have had from Cingular I did not care for all the mods they do to the software/phone.
