Mingo Wireless

A few weeks ago I ported my number to, Mingo Wireless. After I got it ported, I then realized I needed a Sprint data plan, too.I'd like to know if, this is true, to my understanding?

iDEN to CDMA conversion

Sprint is currently in the process of transitioning its IDEN network over to 800 Mhz CDMA. Just like Verizon and at&t did, they are experiencing "growing pains."

I mention this for two reasons: 1. I do so as an FYI to fellow users on the forum. 2. I also want to squash any credibility that some of the clueless morons may have gained via trolling this forum.

Once the towers are all changed over, the enhanced coverage and reception will be phenomenal. 800 ESMR CDMA is about as good as it gets in terms of structure penetration and square mile coverage.

Anyone who was lucky enough to use Nextel about 10 years ago remembers that, where it worked, it was unbeatable. Now, it's going to work in a lot more places and be fully unleashed as ...

Data Usage I Never Used

I was really upset with Sprint a couple of months ago. I usually rave about their service and their customer service never seemed bad. Then I got some stupid thing in the mail saying I could get a free upgrade. I went in and they sold me some phone (free after mail in rebate) and I still hate this piece of fail. I sometimes wish someone WOULD steal it, so then they could be cursed with this piece of fail instead of me.

Then I get my first bill with some $50 activation fee, which would have been fine, if they had told me there was going to be one. That was a surprise headache I didn't need and then the next bill came along saying I owed $72 for data usage! I don't use my phone to go online, that is what my laptop is for. So how the heck d...

Sprint Galaxy S3 Questions

Does the Samsung support voice and data at the same time on 3G like the new EVO? I have the original EVO, but HATE the charging port on the side(and manufactures wonder why charging ports get damaged) and the non-removable battery on the new model. Also does the WIFI work better than on the original EVO? My EVO constantly drops my router, and 10 seconds later reconnects. Makes it tough to listen to Tune In Radio. I do not have this problem with other devices, so I don't believe it is a router issue.

SPRINT 4G LTE rollout

OK....Mama SPRINT is really pushing the new 4G LTE phones --pre-order NOW before everyone else has the opportunity to buy. 4G LTE is really only available in, maybe, a 1/2 dozen cities. What is the hurry to get everyone activated on a 4G LTE phone, when the technology isn't even available ??? At this point, you won't even be able to use the current 4G technology.

I am due for an upgrade now....but, why bother to upgrade to one of these phones when 4G LTE is not even available ??? Or, why bother upgrade to one of the current 4G models ??? What's the deal Sprint ??? 😲

I know this may sound stupid....

But I swear my EVO has gotten considerably slower since the announcement of the EVO LTE. It used to be that it would freeze and lag once in awhile (especially when running numerous apps) but now it seems that it has really slowed down.....any ideas?

Is there a "best phone"

i often go online to see the top 5 or 10 phones usually cnet has a rather unbiased listing of various types/models/manufacturers etc...The obvious of what carrier/what "genre" of phone or weather you are looking at rugged/blackberry or smart phone can make this answer vary in a multitude of ways but cmon...i feel i am a cell phone nerd (addicted) i have to try every model i have to have every new phone that comes out and i have 5 on my acct. Now i know when i say im a cell phone nerd/geek whatever there are probably a million folks twice as geeked out over phones but i feel i have a good grasp on the type of phone for what purposes and for what reasons certain phones are the best but is there ONE ... just one ultimate from past to present t...

what phones work with Everything Messaging plan

Hi - I need to replace a lost phone. We have the Sprint Everything Messaging 1500 plan with 1500 minutes shared voice and unlimited text (no other data services).

Sprint told me that none of the "smart phones" would work, and, right now, they are only offering two used/refurbished phones for sale and I don't like either of them.

Can I use any Sprint phone, or will only certain Sprint phones work with this plan? I understand that the certain features will not work if the plan does not support the feature (for example, internet browsing and email).

Thank you!

FRUSTRATION with Sprint -- IDEN THINNING?

My elderly mother depends on her direct connect to contact me (her only care-giver).

It is unreliable now in the Washington, D.C. area. When I called Sprint customer service, they didn't have much advice, other than to switch to another phone with a two-year agreement and slower (yes, his word) direct connect.

Who has the best direct connect in the cellular world? I need a phone with direct connect that my 80-year-old mother can easily use (we have the ic502 now). I may have to change carriers and phones.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Alan

One X vs Galaxy Nexus.

Ok so assuming Sprint launches the G-Nex in the next few weeks as rumored, and assuming they announce their version of the One X in a couple days at the HTC press conference as rumored, which should I go with?

The pure Android goodness of the Galaxy, or the One X with it's better display and quad core processor??

I swore after my EVO 3D i was only going pure android from here on out. But the display and processor on the One X are soooo tempting, especially if i can make do til root is available.

Anyone familiar with Budget Mobile/gov't phones?

Budget Mobile is an MVNO that purports to offer "free" cellphone service (via federal assistance) to low-income customers who are also on other Federal aid programs. Some of you may be familiar with it. It's a complete scam.

My complaint with this company (if it can be called that) is regarding their questionable customer service information. I work for a Sprint Preferred retailer. Several times a week, people visit our store who have been told to activate their Sprint-branded Budget Mobile devices at our location. Problem is, my associates and I are incapable of servicing these devices as we have no affiliation with Budget Mobile. It interferes with our business and causes us to look inept. The service representatives at Budget Mobile ar...

Nexus S 4g with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.04

I just upgraded my phone to the new Android version 4.04 and I am missing the "face unlock" feature on the security menu. Does anyone know what is going on? Its weird. I thought I had it earlier when I first did the upgrade by my phone ringers were not working right. So I just took out the battery and powered up again. Everything seemed to be working fine and now the "face unlock" feature is missing from the phone. any ideas/suggestions? thanks in advance!
