Consumer Question

I am a current sprint customer. I very much enjoy the service. I am due for an upgrade and I like the new DNA. Does anyone know when Sprint might have this phone?

Thanks in advance.

Clearwire spectrum

Apparently, that huge amount of 2.5 GHz spectrum Sprint got when it bought Nextel, which Sprint then sold to Clearwire, is proving very difficult to get back. The list of those pushing back is growing:

1. Clearwire shareholders
2. Dish Networks
3. Verizon
4. DOJ

Too bad Sprint decided to let all that spectrum go to Clearwire in the first place. Looks like it will really cost Sprint to get it back now, if they even can.

Salary info for Management Positions

I am currently looking into open Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager Positions.

What is a starting Salary for these positions. Commission, bonus plans, etc?

I am currently looking in the Chicago, Las Vegas and San Diego areas.

In addition to the Salary what does the process look like with interviewing, time frames and what not.

How is working for the company, benefits relocation expenses.

Any information would be very helpful. Thank you in advance. (I also understand privacy in this matter as well.)

Data speeds effected by interference ?

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has some information or knowledge on this question. Can you data speeds on your smartphone be effected by inference such as CB radios, and other mobile devices in large numbers.

I work at a site with about 2500 employees during the day, speeds are a hit and miss in the day. At night they are fast and consistent. I know capacity has a lot to do with that as well, but thought about all the people who also have mobile devices running on other carriers. Not to mention, wifi throughout the site in many building and floors.

Thank you for anyone's input.

Kudos to Sprint on the Sonim XP Strike

Congratulations Sprint! The addition of the Sonim XP Strike to the new Sprint Direct Connect line of phones is great news. It fills a large gap in the SDC hardware lineup, and steals back a bit of thunder from ATT's full-court-press for Nextel customers with its new Enhanced PTT over LTE (ATT has had the Sonim PTT phone for awhile).

At last, a glimmer of hope that Sprint is taking more seriously the Nextel vanguard. Good news indeed.

Sprint's "Loyalty Rewards" for Nextel customers

Sprint has such incredible customer service...it's truly unbelievable.

I received a letter dated Nov. 19, 2012 stating that effective Jan. 1, 2013, as a Nextel iDEN customer I will be PENALIZED an ADDITIONAL $10/line/month unless I switch to Sprint CDMA service before Jan 1st.

Rather than just let the Nextel iDEN customers go right up to the June 2013 cutoff, because iDEN's performance warrants it in many areas, and rather than offering greater incentives to switch to Sprint CDMA, they are actually PENALIZING Nextel and PowerSource customers in an attempt to get them to switch before June.

I am so gratified that Sprint has chosen to honor my 10+ years of on-time, postpaid loyalty as a Nextel customer by penalizing me to the tune of ...

New phones?

Hi there, I'm a current US Cellular customer who has decided to move to sprint. I'm considering two different phones... the samsung galaxy s 3 or the new Note 2.

Aside from these two phones does anyone know of any new smart phones coming out between now and the end of the year that may be worth waiting for?

Thanks!!

Sprint Dura XT

I recently purchased one through a retailer. So far, I'm very happy with the performance compared to Nextel. I also had purchased a Moto Renegade in 2008. Although both use the same platform, here are the differences:

1. The new PTT has way better battery life. Two full days of use compared to just one. This was how my old i90 performed.

2. Better coverage due to roaming. I now can use my DC anywhere I use the regular phone. The V950 was confined to 3G areas and my i90 to network only coverage. It takes three seconds to connect when in a 1X area.

3. This version of Sprint DC has the familiar roger beep at the end of a transmission rather than the annoying bonk the first generation had.

4. Sprint's horrible one click menu is no mo...

Service restoration following Sandy

Funny, but four days ago (Oct 31), Verizon Wireless was reporting that 94% of its wireless sites were still operating, today (Nov 04), VZ claims a full 96% of their wireless sites are operaional. Yet Sprint is reporting they are only 80% operational in the same area (NYC).

Can anyone explain how it is that Sprint's wireless operations fared so badly in NYC compared to the competition in the wake of tropical storm Sandy? Sprint keeps touting how great their state-of-the-art equipment is, how it is smaller and more flexible and uses so much less power than the competition's older equipment, as a result of the "Network Vision" thing, yet Sprint's wireless network did by far the worst in the NYC area, and is still the farthest behind in resto...

HEARING AID USERS- Compatibility

Back in August I bought an HTC EVO 4G LTE and being a bluetooth enabled hearing aid wearer and a Phonak ICOM wearer, the EVO 4G LTE is NOT compatible, I REPEAT is NOT.
After receiving no help from HTC Customer No Service..trying to get them to get me an update, SPRINT stepped up to the plate after my persistence of 2 months of emails and calls and has agreed to send me a Samsung Galaxy III S.
SPRINT IS THE FINEST or was it me for staying on top of it..?
Whatever...For those folks who wear hearing aids MAKE SURE before you switch check out your AID manufacturer's website to make sure your phone is compatible.

THREE DAY Nationwide Outage for Sprint Direct Connect

For the past week or two, thread after thread, post after post, nothing but complaints about the new Sprint Direct Connect on CDMA. I wonder if Sprint's executives recall what a death blow it was to RIM's Blackberry business when RIM experienced large outages for days on end. The same has recently been happening with SDC on CDMA.

I guess Sprint must be glad that Howardforums is still hijacked, or they'd be getting even more negative postings about the unreliability of Sprint Direct Connect on CDMA.

After the massive outage, I wonder what FEMA now thinks about their committment to switch from iDEN PTT to CDMA PTT...

These threads on Sprint's own Community website:

Since Sprint isnt partnering with ISIS, does that mean mobile payments arent in Sprints future?

Since Sprint isnt partnering with ISIS, does that mean mobile payments arent in Sprints future? I'm asking because I am considering Sprint. I think Verizon is way, way overrated. And mobile payments is something very, very important to me that I expect to develope in the U.S. in the next 18 months.

Here is the article that lists the wireless carriers that are partnering with ISIS, Sprint isn't listed as one of the carriers.
