Razr another Motorola quickie

Jan 1, 2006 by bkdlays

I have not had a good Motorola phone since the 7760 Star Tac

I have had a Razr for a week and have had plenty of problems with it.

It has locked up 5 times and you cannot tell when it is locked up until you try to make a call.

You have to take the battery off to reset.

The phone randomly doesn't ring in a perfect service area.

The "pocket" phone design makes it so you change the ringer setting or turn it off when you walk by pressing the ultra sensitive side keys accidentally.

No assignable shortcuts keys

Battery life not so great

Pros:

Looks cool
Cool Ringers

Attracts attention

Vcast I guess
Camera is ok

BEST PHONE EVER OWNED!

Jan 1, 2006 by JJemMO852

I bought the RAZR V3c from Alltel a little before Christmas, and I love it. I upgraded from the LG LX5450, in my opinion the worst phone ever created. The V3c performs much better and has way more features.

PROS:
-SMALL: fits into the small little change pocket in jeans
-The camera is so much better then the VGA camera on my LG, plus you can take pictures from the external display
-Decent speakerphone
-BIG screen on the inside
-The keypad is so awesome...maybe my favorite part of the phone
-Ringers are high quality.

CONS:
-Side buttons get messed with in my pocket and sometimes the ringer volume changes
-Not many skins (three) and I only like one.
-No menu button and it takes some getting used to to use the center button instead.

I highly recommend the RAZR to anyone looking for a new phone.

Dont judge a phone by its looks

Where to begin...

i received this phone on Christmas, as a gift. I chose this phone over every other phone from verizon because i thought it was a good phone. The manager at verizon said it was the best phone they had, he lied!

Pros~
Great camera
loudness in earpiece
bluetooth
real web browsing

cons~
slim desing(always losing it)
SLOW INTERFACE(it takes 2 seconds for the menu to come up)

no flash, and the keypad wont stay lit when theres light around, even if u cant see the numbers

Not perfect but what is

I just purchased the moto v3c with u.s. cellular. The reception is great and of course I love the slim body.
The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a ring & vibrate feature but I can live without it.

Its a phone!!! And a good one at that

This phone has been great. I got one for myself, my fiance and his three family members at Christmas time. All of us love them. When we bought them, we were told that it failed vzw's testing three times before making it to the market, which made us more comfortable knowing that vzw is cautious about the phones they put on the market. I live in Denver Colorado where VCAST was just recently launched and the VCAST service in this market is awesome. If I have the volume up too high, the sound crackles, but turning down the volume fixes the problem. I don't expect the product to be perfect because it is a new service. I realize that this is a phone, and it does what it is supposed to do- makes calls. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a phone, not all of the other bells and whistles.
pros include
- GREAT reception
- Big display, quite clear for moto
- Small and light weight (duh)
- I love they keypad!!
- Easy to follow menu (Its about time for moto)
- Easy to program
- Bluetooth capability
- Large buttons on keypad
- New improved charging port for moto!
- Battery life is not bad (In my personal use)

Cons Include
-Feels kind of flimsy- naturally with design
-Buttons on the side of phone, could be placed better and should be able to lock.
-I tap for text messaging can be difficult if not used prior to this phone.

All together this is a great phone! The rep at VZW said they are selling a ton of them despite the price and are not seeing a lot of them come back.

Returning It ASAP

I've had the phone for about 1 week. The speakerphone is not loud enough to use in my car, people say they can't hear me. The cover for the keypads must be loose, when I dial a number I'm always dialing the wrong number. The pictures I've taken at the highest resolution have been horrible. The VCAST videos I have downloaded seem to skip a bit at times. One video I watched neither the left or right button worked for muting or options.

I also don't understand why Motorola doesn't make something I can use in my car that would charge the batter and use the speakerphone at the same time. I have the car AC adapter but the speakerphone quality is totally unacceptable to me compared to my prior LG phones.

Is it a phone or scrap metal?

I was very dissappointed with this phone. I thought it was going to be high quality considering the price, but it definately wasn't!

Pros are that it is thin and has a good inside screen.

Cons are that it feels so cheap, has horrible outside screen, key pad is loose, buttons don't register half the time, and did I mention it looks and feels cheap?

It's Great!

It's a great phone. It does everything I expect a phone to do. Sure, it's not perfect, but then, what is?

Too much echo

Dec 29, 2005 by bcronin

I wanted to like this phone, with all of the buzz and amazing reviews. However, I got my phone yesterday and while it looks beautiful, the sound quality is just awful. The voice quality of the person I am speaking to is not clear. Even worse, when I speak into the phone, it has an echo or reverberation. The listener doesn't hear the reverb of my voice, but I do. At first, I just assumed it was a bad phone, so I went to the Verizon store and swapped it out for a new one. The new one had the exact same problem. Evidently, it's the phone design. Ultimately, I need the phone to sound good to me and good to others (the other gadgets are nice, but audio quality is number one). Further, the speakerphone sounds fine to me, but the listener hates it when I was on the speakerphone, essentially telling me not to use it with them. This was true on both phones as well. Bottom line: I love the look of the phone, but back it goes. It doesn't have sufficient audio quality for both the owner of the phone and the called party.

verizon razr v3c

Dec 28, 2005 by rewinter88

Purchased 3 new Verizon Razr v3c phones a few days before Christmas for the whole family. After 1 week we are all very happy with this phone. The size was a big influence for all of us - it is very thin and pocketable. It seems to be very sturdy, at least so far, although no one has dropped theirs from way up yet.
PROS - very slim and very nice looking
- very large inside screen
- no antenna - and reception where i am (which is rather remote) has not been an issue at all
- ring volume is plenty loud
- ear piece volume is fine
- speaker phone works great
- voice dialing seems to be clear
- I had no problem using my own ringtones with this phone which is a BIG plus - i went to a music site (walmart.com was fine) and saved the 30 second music clip from any song i liked to my computer. (right click the "listen" icon on the music site and click "save target as" and save it to your computer. then i went to funformobile.com and uploaded the file right to my phone. save sound and set as ringtone. SO COOL and works perfect! and i am NOT techy!
- camera is VERY nice-my daughter has taken photos with it using all the options and the pictures are so clear it is incredible

CONS
- no ring and vibrate at the same time.
- there is no way to actually put your mp3s on the phone yet, as verizon has not released the software to hook your phone up to your computer and have the computer be able to deal with it. so, even though this phone has a small mp3 capacity capability, and it does, it isn't a working thing yet for someone who isn't a complete techhead.
- i can say bluetooth stuff - but i don't care about that and bottom line if you need that- on't go through verizon, right?????
- side buttons do get pushed when you don't want them to-i wish they could be locked.

I recommend the phone. it does what it is supposed to - and does it very, very well. bottom line, there are little things problematic with every phone, and this has the least of them.
