Kinda like it so far

May 25, 2008 by aigonzalez

I just got the phone yesterday. I love the slide out keyboard. I can hear people very clear and it has a nice loud ringer. My only problem so far with it is the wireless Internet. I was trying to buy a ring tone and got kicked off every 30 seconds. I had to call sprint 3 time in w minutes. They ended up giving me free Internet. I had heard about the problems with the rumors internet before hand.It was not the reason I bought it.
Pros
Keyboard great for texting.
Good signal
Small and slim.
Cons
The Internet being slow
also it kicking you off
Over all its a great phone if you are looking to text or make calls. Not if you want a fast phone with Internet.

Bad phone

May 19, 2008 by nastynettles

i got this phone for christmas 2207 it has broken three times and has been replaced. Lg has the manufacturers warranty but it takes so long it is hardly worth it. I recommend not getting this phone because it will turn off automattically and the screen breaks easily. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE

Pretty good for my first phone

May 17, 2008 by LocalPhoneGuy

My sister let me get this phone around Easter time, which is just before everyone else started buying it. All in all, it's a sturdy phone with fantastic call quality and decent messaging capabilities.

Pros:
-Even though I live in an area with very little Sprint coverage, calls are crystal clear.
-The keyboard is comfortable and instinctive
-The screen is gorgeous, despite only being 176x220

Cons:
-Lack of MMS (which is really an oversight on Sprint's part)
-Software, though better than it was an old Sprint phones, could be streamlined a little more (again, Sprint's fault)
-Ringer isn't very loud at all.
-Can't feel vibration while I'm moving.

I say again, I really got spoiled since this is my first phone (I used my mom's prior to buying this). The only two problems I have with the phone itself are the ringer volume and the vibrate function.

i'm not so sure.

alltel lg scoop

CONS:
1. i've had this phone for about a month. i'm a very heavy texter and already the buttons are getting worn out. the color is coming off so it looks really dirty.

2. and the keyboard slides out on me all the time so it comes unlocked and turns off on its own. i've missed several important calls already because of it.

3. the camera doesn't take very quality pictures. when i get them on my computer, they're pixled and fuzzy and it can't take pictures at any time other than in day light or in a well lit room. although it can hold a ton of pictures without having to get a memory card and i do love that part about it. no need to delete old pictures. idk how many it can hold totally but so far i have almost 100.

4. the videos only record for 15 seconds. it can't even capture very eventful moments. and its slow when saving to your phone. its the same way with pictures too. and when i want to delete pictures i push options and it takes 5 seconds for the options to show up. not a good thing when you're in a hurry.

5. you can't set a recording as a ringtone :/

6. the vibrate is very weak. i can't feel it vibrating when its in my purse or pocket even.

7. gets terrible service and says i'm roaming all the time, even when i'm at my house.

8. short battery life.

its done my texting addiction great justice thus far... and im using the lil guy to post this review thru opera mini 4.1... the aim is awesome too... one thing that is still kind of an issue is that youtube mobile doesn't do like it did on my fusic... it says i need a handler and then when i select "Get Handler" it just takes me to the download screen savers page in sprint vision, which is kind of irritating... but other than that, this lil d00d is great!

I've had this phone for over a month and I like it. I was worried at first, but after a while I got use to it and I would Suggest this phone to any one that has kid that use the text messaging ALOT. This is a phone that kids will love. I got mine on a buy one get one free deal.

JUST BOUGHT TWO!

Apr 23, 2008 by RodneyL

Myself and my wife just bought two new "Scoops" from Alltel yesterday. We were out of our ontract plus her "Hollywood" display was dead and my Razr had a bad battery.. so we had been thinking about renewing for a while. I had been eyeing a blackberry or a Q, but all I really wanted a qwerty keyboard. So when we saw the "buy 1 get 1 free" Alltel promo for $39.99 on the scoop phones we were excited.

She got a orange and I got a "slate" (black) color. Right away we were impressed and happy with most of the phones features.

PROS:
Lightweight, but good quality feel
Easy to handle buttons, not too small/big
Great navigation and menus
Keyboard makes everything easier
Love the ring options (1 beep and multiple volume controls)
Great starter ringtones

CONS:
Camera has a small delay
Volume on earpiece may be a tad low
Unable to check for software update (says can't connect to network)

The bottom problem may just be a Alltel network issue- but it doesn't worry me much since the phone is new, I hope to have the latest firmware.

Overall all, for $40 plus tax, you can't beat these phones!

Best Phone I've ever had.

Apr 21, 2008 by zike

Well I've only owned 3 phones including The Rumor so, haha.

Actually theres only one thing that I hate about this phone and that is you cannot text and listen to music at the same time. This isn't a big enough reason to mark it a whole .5 down.

Pros-
*Keyboard (Obviously)- Makes texting a lot easier
*Sleekness (Is that a word?)- For a texting phone it's quite slim I've seen phones thicker than this and it didn't even have a QWERTY.
*Nice Bright Screen(Self Explanatory)
*Nice Customization

Cons-
*Horrible Media Player- But it's a phone so I suppose it does what it was meant to do.
*When making calls the screen will smudge- Well this depends, if your wearing make-up have longer hair, etc.(Like candy bar phones usually do)
*No Flash

Very Low End Phone

Apr 11, 2008 by qtgirl_78

I got this phone because I wanted the SERO plan to be only $40/mo ($30 for SERO, $10 for nav)for everything, whereas with the Pearl I had before, I was paying $70 ($30 for SERO, $30 for BB plan, $10 Navigation), which completely defeated the purpose of having SERO. And all I really did with the phone was text and use Nav anyway...so i got the Rumor.

Horrible decision. Now, to be fair, I was coming from a very high end phone and got used to things like no menu lag, fast naviagation, and the phone keeping up with how fast I'm typing. Unfortunately, the Rumor couldn't do any of these things. Anyway, here's the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
* Great form factor, very cute and slide mechanism works great, very solid!
* Yahoo chat was awesome!
* Pictures were pretty decent for 1.3 MP camera with no flash
* T9 typing with phone closed so it was easier to text and drive
* loud ringers
* vibe while ring feature is awesome and i missed it
* MMS (one major thing missing on Pearl!)

Cons:
* low screen res
* I drove faster than the GPS navigation could keep up with...which means i missed my turn ALL THE TIME!
* I was typing faster than the phone could keep up with on QWERTY keyboard. this didn't happen on front of phone with T9
* Menu lagged really bad when text messages were full-only a little bad when messages weren't full
* Keys were really cheap and i hated the "clack clack" sound
* couldn't make alarm ring at a different volume than the ringer...which was annoying since i normally put the phone on silent at night, but need my alarm to wake me up in the morning

Overall, a very low end phone. if this is your first phone, or you have generally gone with lower end phones in the past, then you may not have the same problems i had...but it's impossible to go from a higher end phone with more functionality to this one...you will be very frustrated!!

BAD BAD BAD PHONE!! 2 broken phones in 2 months

Apr 8, 2008 by yepiamborednow

I have had two LG Scoops in the last two months. The first one had a manufacture defect and would not take pictures.
The phone would freeze up and I had to take the battery out.

After two weeks of NO pictures, i took it back to Alltel. I got a brand new one. I was very careful with this one, yet its broken now. When im on the phone, its sound is so messed up that the person on the other end cant hear me and just start saying my name over and over...
I cant even use the PHONE FOR A PHONE... >_<

This one also RANDOMLY turns off, and Almost always resets when taking pictures. The "CHAT" [yet and awesome idea] doesnt work. It only shows one side of the conversation, and RARELY shows both.

The MP3 player skips, yet has very loud volume.
The phone takes bad BAD, fuzzy pictures, even though its a 2 Mega pixel camera.

I find that the keyboard is very awkward and is hard to use.

Overall, DONT GET IT...
