Have had two (family plan) since december 15th 07. First one completely died a month ago and had to be replaced. The screen on the second one just died today! Absolute junk! Wouldnt have another one of these if they gave it to me!

Great for texting w/out having to get a PDA

Feb 21, 2008 by geniene

I have always purchased blackberries/smartpohnes simply to be able to text on a full keyboard. Well, I think I just found a fix for that. The LG Scoop from Alltel is awesome! The texting is fast and has chat style which is awesome! I also wanted to point out that even though you can't send media via Bluetooth on the Sprint Rumor. I can on my Scoop. Alltel did not lock that away from its customers. I have sent a few pictures and mp3 files over from my Curve and it worked just fine. The GPS on this phone is assisted only so that is another difference between sprints ax260 and alltel's.

Nice Phone!

I'm not going to spend all day writing a detailed review. Anyways I have had alot of phones and this is one of the best I have ever used. I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Love the Phones

Jan 3, 2008 by jazw33

I bought 2 of them one for each of my daughters. They can text so fast it's amazing. I am so happy that they can get in touch with me anytime they need to quickly!! I got them for $25.00 each and free shipping and free activation. When you go to buy phones if you are a customer already call the sprint people and negotiate a better price for your phones, those prices are NOT set in stone.

Pros: keyboard!!!
sturdy
fun
bright display
easy to use!!
I am glad no music store because I wouldn't want the bill racked up!!
Blocked internet and picture mail

Cons: no flash on camera
Lack of color choice, they only had the black left would have liked them to have had different colors. Phone numbers were recylcled too fast!! They are getting calls and texts for other people (not LG's fault)

Definitely recommend this phone!

Great phone, Poor phone.

Honestly, I was extremely excited to get this phone. I am on the sprint network and generally pretty displeased with their selection of non-flip phones that aren't blackberries or other smart devices. When the rumor came out I was happy to have a simple bar style phone, with the added bonus of a sliding qwerty keyboard. I have had good luck with LG before so I decided to give this a shot.

Read the other reviews, the phone is very nice. All the features work wonderfully and are blended seamlessly with nice style and technical capabilities. Unfortunately, two weeks after receiving my phone, it simply stopped receiving service. I took it to the sprint store and they said there was nothing that they could do. I had to order a new phone, that was the only way to fix my issue. I received my new phone, activated it and was again very pleased with my wonderful new phone. A week later, my phone again stops receiving service all together and displays the message "service required". Turns out this is a known issue and apparently with a certain sequence of buttons pressed the phone completely reboots (all data/contacts/settings were lost) and it is impossible to reprogram the phone (I tried in store and over the phone with sprint). The only method to fix this problem, you guessed it, get a replacement. Sprint assured me that I was simply having bad luck, and because I liked the design so much I went back for more punishment and ordered another rumor. Well, I am sitting here right now with a phone that refuses to get service, so I'm going to go ahead and stop trying with the LG Rumor. Although the phone is wonderful and when it works is absolutely everything I could ask for, it has one major problem. It won't work for long.

CASES FOR RUMOR

Dec 10, 2007 by salesrep

I haven't had the opportunity to purchase this phone as of yet,due to the fact that it is flying off the shelves before I can get one for myself. What I did want to take a moment and mention to everyone,is a case for this phone. I've read most all of the reviews and alot of folks have made comment of not being able to find a case for it or the centro.
If you go to the SC Kiosk's inside Sam's Club(You don't need a membership card to get to the kiosk, just let the person at the door know your going to the communication center)
you'll find a case that is design for the blackberry,MotoQ,Treo. Cost is $19.87 give or take your area. The rumor will fit fine in it. You will have to take it in and out to use it,but it's a case to protect your phone.
Looking forward to sharing my own Pros and cons soon.

Rumor Review

Nov 22, 2007 by jjohns

I just picked up the Rumor from the company that I worked at and I'm so far satisfied with it. It was either going to be this phone or the Centro, but seeing as I really don't use the web on the phone that much, I didn't really see the point of signing up for a 25 dollar a month web package just to get a 50 dollar rebate. This phone does everything that I need it to do so far.

PROS:
Slide out keyboard makes text entry easy.
Auto Key Lock set as the default
Uses MicroSD, which for me is more readily available.
Size and shape of the phone fits nicely in my hand.
Keyspacing on Qwerty Keyboard is good
Goes to Messaging Menu when I slide the phone "open" from Standby

CONS:
Can't use Media Player to listen to music while doing anything with messaging

As you can tell, there are a lot more things that I like about this phone than I don't, if you aren't looking for a Power Vision phone, then this is definitely a phone to look at. Priced comparably with, and having more features and higher resolution camera than the Sanyo Katana II.

Cool phone

Nov 11, 2007 by angela10baseball

I was geting pretty tired of Sprint not getting out any cool phones. I was ready to switch carriers when the Rumor came out. Sprint won me over. This phone is very nice, sturdy and just what someone like me- a habitual texter- needs. I am only having trouble sending pictures to my reatiler's kodak kiosk. Can anyone help me with this?

Great phone

Nov 10, 2007 by eblades33

This phone is a huge step from my old Sanyo VI-2300, and I really love it. I got it 2 days ago, so this isn't that accurate of a review.

Pros:
-Great speaker sound
-Texting is really easy
-Small
-Looks good
-Good features-unit converter, mp3, camera/camcorder, more.
-Good service-sprint (duh)
-Big/bright screen
-Feels good in hand
-Dedicated speaker and camera buttons
-You can record memos/videos and make them your ringtone

Cons:
-Too many reminders-like when you send a text to someone not in your contacts it always asks "Would you like to save to contacts?" Not a big deal but it gets annoying sometimes.
-When you slide it open it automatically goes to messaging. Again-not a big deal
-If your inbox/sent-box for texting is full and you go to it there is a bit of lag time on the screen.
-Battery power isn't to great, but overall its alright.

The pros are great, and the Cons aren't that big of a deal. Overall a great phone, I definitely recommend it.
