pretty satisfied so far

Nov 3, 2007 by illcallyou

Ive only had the phone for a few days and i can say it doesn't take long to love. My nieces use to love to play with my Katana and now its my rumor....so its gets a plus for interesting.

PROS:
Texting similar but not as irritating as the treo
ringer quality
sound quality in the earpiece and on speaker

as an effort to help those out when doing alt with texting if you press the alt twice its locked and you can enter the long strand of numbers. i just found this out today and i was doing it the long way all week...lol

CONS:
i hate hearing the buttons when i press them...Ive turned the sound off its just the sound of the plastic that bothers me.

And i wanted it in white but all they had available was black

Good all around

I really enjoy this phone. I've only had it for 2 days now but it's really lived up to my expectations after reading what I did about it on this site. I love the feel of the phone, it's sturdy and I don't feel like I'm going to break it just be holding it like I have with some phones I've looked at buying in the past. The learning curve was fairly easy to pick up and the phone is fairly user friend in my opinion but then again I also have a lot of electronics experience. My favorite feature thus far besides the sliding qwerty keyboard is the Sprint navigation that is standard on most Sprint phones. I'm too cheap to buy a GPS unit and my old phone (Sanyo SCP-3100) was not GPS capable, so that feature was just amazing to me. The camera was an upgrade from my old phone, and just everything is awesome so far. The only negative I have is that it is not EVDO.

AWESOME!!!!!!

This phone is so much nicer than i thought it would be. Looking at it on the internet, i thought that it was probably going to be really cheaply made. This phone is one of the nicest i have ever owned. It has all the functions of an expensive phone, for a really great price. The guy who reviewed this thing and said it was horrible is definitely a liar. I can vouch for the other guys statement, this phone isnt even available in stores yet. Most people at the stores havent even seen it yet. The only reason i didnt give this phone a perfect score is because it the keypad is little small, but other than that they phone is awesome.

Come on "lghater"

well this is my first LG phone, and i am extremely satisfied. to the "lghater" man, how can you complain with the price tag of $80 dollars?!?! I mean i would call myself a phone fanatic, but what were u expecting? 5mp camera, 4gb built-in, touchscreen, ect...hahahaha go get an iphone or something buddy. i've worked at sprint, and i have been waiting for a phone like this to come out for the longest time, i get a new phone about every 3 months, and always had a smartphone. so i wanted something that had the bells and whistles, and that would fir in my pocket quite nice. everythng about the phone is great, except for the camera, wish it had at least a 2mp like the envy, and wish it had a flash. other tHen that, great phone!!

CONS: GREAT PRICE TAG, CALL QUALITY, APPS, GPS!!, EXTERNAL, AND SLIDE-OUT KEYBOARD, POP3 EMAIL, IM CLIENT, EASE OF USE.

PROS: NO EVDO, 1.3MP CAMERA, LOOKS LIKE 2 IS BECOMING A STANDARD THESE DAYS.

GOOD JOB LG.

Just got rid of this...

I switched to this phone a little over a month ago, and within the first week or so, I had already had to go back to the cellular provider, and have them switch me twice. (I went through 3 of the LG UX 260s- they all had the same problem).

Here were some of my issues with my phones:

-During texting (especially when on vibrate mode), phone would not allow me to text. I would continue pressing a key, and no characters would appear.
-While surfing the internet, my phone would randomly reset.
-Phone would occasionally lag in processing with a blank screen.

Apparently, the manufacturer is aware of those problems; it was not just my phone, which is why my company was nice enough to provide me with a new phone of a different model. The problems listed above had no solution.

Here are some general pros and cons regarding the phone:

*Cons*
-No ability to customize menu
-Limited characters on the QWERTY keyboard doesn't allow for all symbols to be placed
-No picture ID with texts, in fact, NO ID at all with texts; it simply reads "One new message."
-Picture ID with calls is very small
-Camera is less than adequate.
-Speaker phone isn't very loud
-Sound quality was nothing special
-Cheap design; I wouldn't recommend carrying it around without a faceplate- who knows how much damage I would have had otherwise.
-No USB link like some of the Motorola phones which allow for easy transfer of files (at least with the US Cellular version)
-Small inbox (100 messages max)

*Pros*
-Sleek design is small and lightweight, but provides a full keyboard- very cool for texting.
-Speaker phone button right on front of phone
-Affordable
-Removable memory (MicroSD)
-Music player

Any other questions, feel free to contact me- I'd be happy to help you decide if this is the phone for you.

LG Scoop and ringtones problem

Apr 1, 2008 by slartidad

I have been a happy customer of LG products but this is the first time I have been forced to hack my own phone to use MY mp3s WHICH I OWN (My kids voices) and songs I HAVE PURCHASED as ringtones.

The phone LG Scoop (AX260) is excellent in every other function and design, but there was NO information in ANY of the literature, brochures, handouts or manuals about this obvious change! For this deceit, I rate them only a 2.5 out of 5.

Before I was able to use a voice recording or an uploaded mp3.

No longer!

The whole story, along with copies of emails from LG and ALLTEL is available on my blog dansnider dot info.

Fantastic Phone

This phone is great and so easy to navigate and use. Went to local Sprint store to upgrade phones and when selection and price were not great, i went to Best Buy to see what they had. While not many phones, they're prices are better than the Sprint store. Was looking at smartphones, MOTO Q or something similar as I'm not a power user like some but needed something with easy texting/IM, checking emails and such. I've found it with the RUMOR. They had just gotten the phone in that day, Nov.2. Had to get a mangager to scan it just to check the price. $49.00, are u kidding me...wrap it up, i'll take it.

The phone feels good in the hand, Qwerty keyboard slides effortlessly and overall the phone feels solid and well built. Only had it less than a week but keys aren't to small and texting and navigating is easy.

I'd give it a 5 rating but camera isn't great, pictures aren't very good unless there's a lot of light but thats only a minor flaw.

Wife is wanting one now but have to wait til they get the white one in stock.

Overall, love the phone and u will too.

LG Rumor

Just short of 2 months old and the keypad froze, volume adjust froze and unable to lock phone. Called LG to get a replacement - was informed that they would replace with a refurbished phone - like I want someone else's problem? Would never suggest anyone purchase - ever, on the contrary - would advise anyone not to purchase. In addition, found out that the phone is relatively new, came out in November 07 and already needs an update that you will need to go to your store so they can download. This thing is junk - don't waste your money.

The Rumor is a Bust!!

I purchased the green version of this phone in March of this year. Within 3 months, the N button on the keyboard randomly works. I contacted Sprint who said without purchasing the insurance, then I would need to pay $55 to receive an advanced replacement directly from Sprint. Otherwise, I needed to call LG and use the ONE TIME USE 1 YEAR WARRANTY. I questioned the representative further and learned that if I went through LG, then I would receive a replacement from them but the replacement phone would not have a warranty or the remainder of the original warranty. She said my best bet would be to pay $55 to receive an advanced replacement from Sprint so I could still have the one time use warranty to use if the replacement phone fails. Gee thanks for the great customer service Sprint....
