Great rumor

Dec 11, 2007 by herwast

What a great phone. I am so glad I decided to stay with Sprint. I was almost going to switch.

Pros:
Slider, very nice, practical and smooth
Full QWERTY board
Very nice buttons, easy to use and text
MP3 player
Loud speakerphone
Beautiful display
Quality design and solid feel

Cons:
No Sprint music store (not LG's fault)
Ringtones could be louder

I love this phone very much. It's a keeper!

Texting and sliding

I am so glad Sprint came out with a great cool phone. I love the Rumor. The combination of the slider with the full QWERTY keyboard is absolutely great. It's so easy to text, it's awesome.

I wish Sprint had a music store. I've read several people saying the same thing. Maybe Sprint will hear us...

In the meantime...Thank you LG for making this great phone available!

I am absolutely in love with this phone! If it were legal to marry phones, I would definitely consider this one. It is perfect! The reception, the keyboard, the ringtones, screen savors, mp3 player EVeRYThinG! I haven't had a problem with this phone at all. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone who wants a perfect phone! DONT BE AN LGHATER! Just trust this phone to give you everything you need!

Pro: Everything

Cons: No power vision

A Great Value, A Great Phone

Dec 11, 2007 by kylehiggins1

We have had incredible feedback on this device. Many of our stores are sold out, so I was lucky to get my hands on one. It has a great fast, easy to use interface, and the buttons are well orginized and easy to use. this is definatly a phone we have been waiting for and great for the teenage demographic.

Pros:
Great form factor
Easy to use
The price is right
Good company
very popular
great sound quality

Cons:
Only two colors available

I looove this little gadget!

I have been a dedicated Palm Treo user for about the last 5 years.

I am a heavy texter so I have been waiting for a handset with a user friendly keyboard that ALSO has good phone quality. In the past it has been my experience that a handset is great for one or the other and not both.
So far... this one has both!

On the downside I suppose is the data speed and learning curve with the keyboard. I wish they were a little more raised or slightly larger. Ya can't have everything! lol
Overall Review
Pros:
Lightweight yet sturdy
nice size screen
Camera quality is decent
sliding parts seem stable
Email program works great

Cons:
keyboard buttons slightly more difficult to push than treo. (especially if you have nails)
data is slower than normal I think

Basically... a pretty nice handset for all you texting geeks out there!

I'm pretty happy with this phone...

I purchased this phone about a month ago an dI'm pretty satisfied with it. Although it didn't take much since all I do is text message. The issue most people are having with this phone is due to pressing buttons while your phone is in the process of turning on. Just don't press any numbers while your phone is powering up and you'll be fine. This issue will be resolved in the new shipment of phones.

Pros:

-Superfast text messaging
-Surprisingly fast internet even tho it doesn't have evdo
-Lots of ringtones already in the phone
-Easy access to text messaging (automatically sends you there when you slide your phone open)
-The ringer is very loud in my opinion
-Premium text messaging (up to 1000 characters)
-The ability to be talking on the phone and text at the same time (the person on the other end can't hear that you're typing)
-I have the white Rumor &I was scared to get it dirty, I got make up on it and all you gotta do is run your finger on it and it wipes right off
-Incredibly easy access to aol, msn &yahoo instant messaging, it comes already installed on the phone
-You can receive "im text messages"
-Myspace Mobile & Facebook are easy to access

Cons:

-Really crappy camera
-No flash on the camera
-I suggest you buy a bluetooth for this phone bc it's kinda hard to hear the person on the other end sometimes
-You can't really take a picture of yourself bc you have to guess where to aim since it doesn't have a "mirror" on the back
-I think the green Rumor that's coming out is ugly, but that's just my personal opinion...

The QWERTY Keyboard

Nov 9, 2007 by treece84

After going to the Sprint kiosk at my local mall I was able to hold and play with the Rumor. It feels and looks great, completely solid in the overall design. Keypad and QWERTY keyboard feel good. Large display but its a standard phone screen. A TFT screen would have been a better option.

I will update this review when I actually purchase this phone.

Rumor has it "IT SUCKS"

Oct 26, 2007 by lghater

Well well, I ran to sprint to buy this phone cause I thought it would be awesome.
Overall it sucks. The keyboard is flimsy, there is no high-speed or stereo bluetooth and the color selection is ridiculous

I cam see a bunch of teeny bopper rich kids dragging their daddy's down to the store so they can buy them a Rumor. [...] This is ridiculous.
Stop texting. [...]

Ed. note: removed rant

I had this phone for a year. After having it for about 7 months I have gotten tired of it. It is a slow phone.
