An Atlanta MetroPCS Rep was using this phone, and confirmed it is in testing with the MetroPCS network, and would be released in February.

Sprint?

I just heard a Sprint advertisement on the radio for the 6255 nokia. I heard it on 92.3 in New York. I'm not sure if I should be disappointed that Verizon hasn't put out this model or if I should be glad that it has made it's US release which is a step closer to becoming available through carriers, other than sprint.

High Speed?

Nokia says that this phone has streaming videos...does that mean that this phone has EVDO?

US CELLULAR??

DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF AND WHEN US CELLULAR MIGHT GET THIS PHONE BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO GET A NOKIA FLIP PHONE EARLY IN THE YEAR AND THIS IS THE ONLY CDMA FLIP NOKIA I SEE THATS COMING OUT SOON.

This phone will be too late...

No way I can wait for this phone... It's just taking too long to get too market. I "would" like to have it, but I cannot wait until next year for it... đŸ˜ĸ

Too bad Nokia, I really wanted to go with a Nokia phone, but they are just too slow in delievering the latest goodies compared to everyone else... By the beginning of next year a bunch of new phones with bluetooth and similiar capabilities will have already been on the market for months....

I guess I will have to go with either a Panasonic X700 or a Moto V551 (or even a RAZR V3 or MPx220 if they ever fix either of those two phones ability to use voice dialing thru a blue tooth headset, some claim the RAZR V3 can but have yet to offer any definitive proof on that...)

cheer...

Unlock Sprint for Verizon?

Assuming that this phone gets released for Sprint ahead of Verizon, can't we just unlock it to have it run on Verizon? Isn't Nokia planning to use the same firmware for both Sprint and Verizon, except for the lock codes?

This is a V710 killer ! ! ! GO NOKIA ! ! !

This phone is everything the V710 was supposed to be AND MORE!!!

The looks are okay, but I don't care, I want functionality & this phone has got even more features than the piece of sh*t V710...

WHEN IS THIS PHONE GOING TO BE RELEASED???

I can't wait to leave Verizon because of the V710 fiasco...

Hurry up already Nokia & Sprint!!! Knock Verizon & Moto on their ass*s while the time is still ripe... 😉

Phone looks great, but how will Verizon cripple this one?

Anyone who has seen what VZW has hobbled the potentially wonderful Moto v710 should be very wary about this phone coming to VZW. Any thoughts?

Nice Features, But Small Screen

Looks promising, but screen is a little small for me. I hate it when phone manufacturers do not utilize more of the space for the main display.

A passing observation

There seems to be some confusion in this forum as to which network (Verizon or Sprint) will acquire this phone. The information page on this phone (on PhoneScoop, that is) indicates it has AMPS 800 MHz capability, which is the old trusty analog standard. Perhaps I am in error (and will freely admit if so), but Sprint is an "all-digital" network and does not use the AMPS standard (they're PCS). However, if Sprint has roaming arrangements with other CDMA carriers (say, for coverage), this might explain why they would adopt a tri-mode phone. I certainly hope it's destined for Verizon, as I've grown weary of the v710 excitement of late.
