LG VX-6100

Okay, I have the 6100 for about a week now and have noticed that when I use the headset while driving, I hear frequent background beeping tones (various different high pitched noises) . If I use the phone on speakerphone or normally, it is fine, no beeping or high pitched noise at all..If anyone else has this issue, please let me know. I'm thinking of exchanging this phone while I still have the fifteen day trial. THANKS! 😲

Last night my phone was on the charger and I had two missed calls but I didnt know when I checked because the phone just said "charged completely". In order for me to see I had missed calls, I had to unplug the phone. Even when I opened the phone without unplugging it, I couldnt see. Anyone know if a side button or something works to see the missed calls without unplugging???!!!!

Can someone tell me if there is a way to put the phon on JUST vibrate and not vibrate/high. I dont want it to ring at the same time. I'm having trouble finding this feature, if it even is a feature!!! Thanks in advance! 😁

We just recieved our phones today...they do look nice..and are priced to fill in for the BOGO promotion...should do great with them...

I'm looking to replace my existing
VX6000 with this VX6100
I used one of the demo models at the verizon store in the mall, brought in my wired headset with the answer/end button in the wire.
This type of wired headset did not work on the
vx6000, (the button was not recognized)
but when I plugged it into the VX6100 I was happy to see that it works with this newer model. Hold the button down to call the last dialed number, (when not in a call)
and hold it for a few seconds to end an existing call. For a phone that does not have bluetooth, the button is a big help, keeps me from having to flip it open all the time, or even take it out of my pocket to answer it.

When I press after typing a text message, my phone doesn't always send the message -- it'll freeze. I'll have to press to turn off the phone and then when it comes back on, I'll have to retype the entire message again. 👿 The phone has been like this since I bought it about 2 months ago. It's such a hassle to exchange phones, and whenever I've had a problem with a phone in the past, Verizon has always acted like there was never a problem and they didn't want to exchange it! I thought maybe this problem would be solved with the firmware upgrade. Maybe I should just swap out my phone...? Does anyone else have this problem?

I just returned the 6100 yesterday for an exchange (was having problems with hearing faint beeping in the background while using headset). Received a new phone and now have a few questions:

I thought my original phone lit up in different colors when it rang..this one does not!

Also, is there a way to use a voice memo and set it as a ringtone?

Finally got my update...fixed the "volume bug". Did not get the "verizon wireless" banner permanently on the screen like some have said...have a picture as my background with my name and it is the same as before the update. Update took approx. 30 min.

I use Bitpim 2.76 to tranfser pix and ring tones back and forth to my computer, but I keep getting error messages trying to do the same with contacts and calendar entries. Bitpim loads them fine from Outlook, but the LG V6100 does not accept them. I have the cable with the in-line adapter from RPI Wireless, which has been pretty useless in customer support. Any help much appreciated.

i have seriously been considering purchasing this phone, but i have not been able to find anything regarding it and compatibility with iSync or macs in general. I don't really care about images or ringtones, but i need to be able to transfer my address book and calendar.

If anyone has any experience with the 6100 and macs, please let me know if it is possible and what is needed to accomplish it!

Does anyone know how to keep Text Messaging on Large Font all the time? The 6100's revert back to small text after you compose and send the message, so you have to change it every time. I'm a VZW Agent, so I've tried it on many 6100's, even contacted Tech Support. Thanks in advance......... 😕

Here's the deal. I'm in a 1900 (PCS) area and am experiencing very marginal RF reception on a 6100. I know I can force mode to the 800 band but I don't want to or have to be switching back and forth necessarily. Currently the LG 6100 hunts in and out between the main network, extended, and occassionally, no service throughout the day at my desktop at work.

I've tried a 7000 and an 8000. Similar results though obviously digital only switching.

I can't take it any more.

For me a 710 is out of the running. My questions are this:

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ONE:
--Will a Moto v265 pull stronger than the 6100 in an identical area? Enough to make a call where the 6100 will not at -104 or so Rx. power?

--Same question for the Nokia 6015i....

I was at US Cellular last month and the guy told me this phone sometime early this month. I went to a diffrent US Cellular store yesterday and the woman said she had no clue when it would be out. Does any one have an idea of when this phone will be coming out for US Cellular?

I remember reading in one of the reviews that you can use the outside display to show a grayscale image of yourself for self portraits. The only thing the manual says to use for self portraits is the "mirror" on the front of the phone. I am assuming the "mirror" is the chrome cover for the lense is that correct? Has anyone figured out how to get a grayscale image on the outside display?

I was told by a Verizon store person that you can use a tool such as Goldwave to convert an MP3 file into a MIDI format that you can then upload to the vzwpix.com website and then download to your VX6100 and use as a ringtone. Has anyone been able to do this? From what I can tell it is pretty impossible to convert an MP3 file into a MIDI file without it sounding horrible. Also Goldwave does not let you save anything as a MIDI file only as a MIDI instrument sample (.sds) format. Is there an easy way to convert and use an MP3 as a ringtone in this phone?

Got to look at the USCC version of the phone, and I have to admit, I'm confused.

Why the heck did they completely re-design the face plate? Also why was the shutter removed?

Anyone got any insight as to why?

OK i need everyones help!! I had the Samsung SCH-a670 phone but unfortunately lost it 😢 ! Now I am getting a new phone and can't decide if I should get the same phone i had or go for this LG VX-6100 phone. They both have pros and cons and I CANT DECIDE!! Which one is better??? I talk on the phone ALL the time and text like a mofo!! hehe so yea i need help deciding which phone is better. (the only problem i had with my old SCH-a670 was it dropped calls a lot!! grrr) please tell me which one is the best to get!!! thank you!

whenever i am using the phone... both the internal and external screens show how long the call has been running. is there any way i can get the current time clock on either screens?
