Question, are there problems with the 6230 freezing when you use a card larger than 256MB? Also, is it true that you can't use the songs on a MMC card as your ring-tone when the card is larger than 256MB. I've got a 32MB card and want to upgrade but I want to make sure I get the right card. Thanks for all the help these posts have been.
I wanted to refresh my contacts on the SIM card so I deleted them, then was going to copy ALL from Memory. First of all the menu of "Keep Original" or "Move Original" threw me off a little but, but I used Keep Original and out of 175 contacts in phone memory it copied 27 to the SIM. What's up with that ???
The only way I could get all of them to the SIM was to do it one-by-one. Am I missing something ...?
Nokia 6230: When I go to answer it, call goes to voicemail...
This just starting happening today. The phone rings (Nokia 6230), I click on the button to answer it, and there's no answer, the call goes to voicemail...it's happened several times. Anyone had similar problem?
Has anyone tried using the 6230 as a modem for either a laptop or a pda?? I have the Palm Zire72 which has bluetooth. Anyone know what settings I would need for internet connections?? I've tried joining them and the connection is there but then when I try to go online it tells me to subscribe to GPRS. I do have media works package. Any help would be great! Thanks.
Has anyone used their 6230 as a modem to get internet on their palm?? I've been really thinking of getting the treo 650 but have recently been aware of something called DUN. Would that enable me to use my 6230 with my Zire72?? Both have bluetooth. I've gotten to the point of "creating GPRS connection" but then it tell me to suscribe to GPRS. I already have a media works package. Also shouldn't it connect with EDGE?? I'm totally confused by all of this. Been reading back and forth, looking at so many different phones and providers I think I fried my brian. Can someone help please??
I'm having trouble getting the Nokia PC Suite to recognize my BT connection. My phone and laptop are connected fine. I am able to send files through explorer fine. The PC Suite cannot detect the connection or the BT software, for that matter. Anyone have any solution to this?
If you do use windows explorer to transfer files, how can you make it go directly to the MMC card? I'm having trouble uploading large files because it is going directly to the cell phone's memory, rather than the MMC card.
I wanted to transfer files with a friend who has Samsung D500. We were able to pair devices and he is able to "browse" my files including the MMC card. I am NOT able to browse his files. I have tried to call Nokia Tech Support and they told me that none of their phones support this browse capability. This pisses me off big time. I hope the Tech Support gave me wrong info.
I've been following this website and forums for a while now.. I moved to GSM from AT&T and got my 6230 yesterday. I was really interested in getting the Seimens S66, but it was way more expensive at the time. I paid a total of $90 for 6230. As I wanted to keep my number, I had to get it from Cingular instead of the -$50 price tag from Amazon..
I found this phone to be a definite player in the market right now with a lot of great things going for it. Let me objectify my findings: Pros -- - Bluetooth - Great Menu - Small and Light - A LOT of features - 32MB card included
Cons -- - Found the service to be worse than AT&T digital (get only 1 bar at home.. b4 got 5)
- Have to buy accessories at an extra price.. rea... (continues)
I uploaded a Family Guy episode onto the phone, and it's great. However, sometimes the audio jumps ahead of the video or the video jumps ahead of the audio. If I pause it and play it, it back on track again. Anyone know why this is happening on how to fix it?
