Samsung SCH-A670

I bought the Mobile Office Kit from Verizon to make it easier to upload and download phone numbers to my a670 phone from my PC. It works OK although it won't do an actual sync operation where it compares the phone database to the PC database and resolves any differences. I then discovered the PCLink app on the Samsung site and downloaded it. I installed it and ran it but it couldn't find my phone. I'm using the USB cable that came with the Verizon Mobile Office Kit. What's worse is that the installation of PCLink seemed to screw up QuickLink Mobile Phonebook as well in that it could no longer find my phone, either. Today when i tried to send myself a ringtone from www.vzwpix.com It said that the file could not upload because it says invalid media type for upload:carfanatic2-3326-midi[1].mid (audio/midi). What am I doing wrong? Its always worked for me before but not this time.

I don't like to have to take off the rubber charger slot cover every time I want to charge this phone. Is it bad if I just leave it off all of the time?

ok i know that i can send a picture message to any verizon wireless camera phone but my question is this: can i send a picture message to a non-verizon phone without the picture just like a text message. Will the system allow it? I figured out that i can send a picture message w/o the picture just like a text message which is what ive been doing but i just wondered if i could do it?

I've been noticing that i get like 1 or 2 bars of service most places and i usually have to put up my antenna to get like 4 bars.. does this account for everyone or maybe its cause i live in the mountains.. my lg vx6000 had no problems with service here..

i am getting a phone and I have been going back and forth between getting one of these phones. Which one would you prefer? The VX7000 has better reviews but I like how this one is smaller. Two of my friends own them and I don't know which one to get 😕 help me?!

Got my a670 about 3 weeks ago and love it. Thanks for all of the great tips here in the forum as well!

We're rolling out Oracle Calendar at work and it has a syncML component that allows syncML-capable phone with the ability to syncronize the phone's calendar with Oracle's. I'm guessing this phone isn't natively capable (though I'd love to be wrong), but does anyone know of a program available (via get it now or elsewhere) that would provide this capability?

does anyone know where to get free ringtones using the web browser on your phone because one of my friends told me about www.3gforfree.com but that wouldnt work i didnt know why until i went to the website apparently all the places that have free ringtones are only available for people who have at&t, sprint, and cingular does anyone know a site that has ringtones for free for verizon customers??

I have repeatedly renamed some of the groups in my phones contact list but they always revert back to the original names. For example, if you rename "Friends" to "Buds" it will eventually change back to "Friends" again. Is there a way to prevent this?

Can I use that picture as wallpaper? I can't find it in the manual anywhere!!!!!

I found where I can save picture but I have no clue where it goes to save it as wallpaper.

I'm confused about how to handle the Contacts list on my phone. It won’t let me create two or more different entries in the Contacts list if they share one or more phone numbers in common. I want to create an entry for my friend’s cellphone with just that number in it and then assign it to a speed dial entry. I want to create a separate entry with just his home number and assign it to another speed dial entry. Finally, I’d like to have general entry for him that has all his numbers, including his fax number and his email address in it. I don’t care about it being a speed dial entry. Is it possible to restrict your number? and if so, how? i mean like block off caller id, so when you call someone, that person wont get your number.

I am recieving my new samsung sch a670 tuesday. I am so happy!! Any suggestions or things I should know about before I take it out of the box? Suggestions- tips- hints- id really appriciate them!
