mypin

Is there a different shortcut to enter your pin number on the Storm. I just tried the "mypin" trick on my friends Storm and it doesn't work. It works fine on my curve. So if there is an easier way to enter your pin in to a message please let me know

Just noticed

When I get a text message with sound it does not play. Anyone else have the same problem? I knew there was something wrong and it just hit me about it not playing sound that can be on a text message. I am still using .75 and am going to wait for the Official release of a new os. So putting a leaked os to solve the problem I wont do. Thanks Peeps, Steven in SoCal

Heard from VZW about update

I wrote VZW today about when a new official update for the Storm would be. Pointed out that people are getting tired of waiting and they feel VZW has given up on the Storm. Wasn't even 10-15 mins later they called my phone about it.

The lady stated that .75 was the last official update to come out and as of now there's no word on when a new one will be released. So looks like we may be waiting a long time before we see a new official software update.

hybrid os114 issue?

I loaded the new hybrid 114 OS yesterday and noticed two things.

1 - The battery life is depleting crazy fast. I went through a full battery in 7 hours with only a couple phone calls and text messages.

2 - When I click the screen it doesn't always wake up. I have to click the unlock button.

Anyone else having this issue or have a solution?

I did 2 battery pulls, but they didn't do anything to help.

Hybrid OS .114 Rocks ++++++ Give it a shot

😁 😁

Like most people who own the Storm, I am frustrated by Verizon's slow rolling out of any updates for the Storm. But I do understand their point of view: they have to do the tech support for the product, so why rush and have problems. But I know: some are still having problems and some aren't. Anyway!!!

I was skeptical of trying any of the leaked OS at first, but then said what the Hell and did it. I have never looked back. Now I find myself trying a Hybrid OS and OMG. What a difference in the phone. I have yet to find a problem with it. I installed it this morning, WOW.

I got the OS from blackberryos.com. Between, phonescoop.com, crackberry.com and blackberryos.com, the help for installing any Hybrid is amazing.

.109 unstable?!

hello ladies,

i have been using .109 for about a week or more and been seeing that the phone has been unstable unlike .103... such things like freezing of the screen, video you have to click the screen button several times to get it to start and stop. this os i have had to battery pull several times actually i have pulled more times with this one then all the other os's combined.. (.65, .75, .90, .99, .103)...

drop a line if you are getting this or not.

.75 USERS LEFT FURTHER IN THE DUST!

Well, there's another leaked OS .114 (crackberry.com cover page), further antiquating users faithful to Verizon's entry level .75.....

Its becoming more apparent the Storm will be obsolete at such time when Verizon finally "wakes up."! 😲

Mac User

I am a mac user. I thought I read someware that RIM was making updates & applications available for mac over their website, without having to install 'boot camp',etc. Is this correct? Thanks.

A silly question..texting?

So, I went to Verizon and tried out the STORM. LOVE IT but can't figure it all out. Keep in mind, I have never owned a blackberry but really would like to.

I tried to try out the text message feature but there are so many options. Anyone care to explain? SMS, etc....

Opera Mini

How can you set the Opera mini (which is 10x faster) to work with the Storm? EG I have to click on options, hide keyboard, show keyboard, every time I have to use a search bar?

I imagine it's designed for the reg bbery that has permanent keyboard, but figured I would check to see if I am doing something wrong.

I am at wits end with this thing!!

Ok, I loved my blackberry curve, but unfortunately it met a terrible end when it flew out of my hand as i was trying to perform a one handed text. The successor (or so I thought) was a voyager, nice phone, but not enough for me, my previous BB ruined me for all other phones. So I gave my voyager to my mom and used her upgrade to get a storm, I LOVED it at first...UNTIL i kept getting "What?" "Say that again?" "Huh?" and eventually getting hung up one because it sounded like I was on speaker and standing 15 feet away. I figured, ok, defective device, no biggie, ill just return it. I take it back, and after they "tested" it (which included talking on the phone for 20 seconds and telling me it was fine) they gave me another one. the second unit...

Muffled talking

I am on my second Storm and am having a small problem. I am told that I sound as if I set my phone down and walk away from it while I am talking.

It is not my pinky finger coviering the mic.

I have talked in circles with Verizon about this problem and their solution of going through 'trouble shooting' techniques is totally useless, and does nothing to fix the problem. They keep informing me that it is a 3rd party application causing this. I had no problems for close to 3 months and then it just started to happen.

THis is one of the most frustrating things and to deal with Verizon in regards to this issue is a joke. How many times do I have to do a master reset and take out my battery, because that is their only option for trouble...
