Re: Midi Files

It must be a TRUE MIDI file... not an MP3 with a MID extension... A MIDI song is called a "sequence", and it is a set of instruction to play Instrument=I, at Note=N, at Volume=V, for Time=T... so it is a sequence of instructions... A whole 2-3 minute song, played by several instruments and drums, might be only 8-12KB long... If you give me an email address I'll send you a bunch... you can pick from them... I have dozens of them on my phone... ~ TMBS ~

On another note: YOu are not forced to do anything. You don't HAVE to come to cingular. But if you do wish to migrate to cingular from at&T, you will have your ETFs from At&T waived, and you will only have to pay the $18 migration fee, rather than the $36 activation fee for new customers. You get it halved even though you're new to the company.

Re: when will VZW start having cool phones like the competition?

Since you replied to me.... :) (I don't think you intended to though.) Actually I don't really care about cameras and video. I use my phone for business and prefer to use a Smartphone with Blackberry capabilities. Currently, Wireless Sync suffices for the two Palm-based Smartphones and the two Microsoft Smartphones VZW offers. There are newer, more powerful smartphones which I would like to see VZW carry. Note: I prefer not to carry a Blackberry because it does not have all of the features I need from a Palm PDA. Further, is a little tough to keep up with too many devices.

I just spoke with my local retail sales rep at Verizon who confirmed that Verizon corporate has ordered all v710 phones to be returned as the repair to the cameras was not sufficient.

They weren't specific other then to say the camera is still at the heart of the recall issue. Frankly, I could care less about the camera - I just want the phone and can't even get one. :'(

Yes, all true; checking up on the story, I called another area V retail store and was told they are not permitted to sell the v710 right now. They suggested it is a software issue. I am going to lean on my corporate mobile phone folks to get the corporate response from Verizon on this issue tomorrow. We have an enterprise level agreement with them; i should be able to come up with some decent information.
