I just have to say... Ow... Well honestly, what I really have to say is, I'm REALLY sorry for this. I see these come by my end from rare time to time and it really sucks when it happens. Basically what went down is that this sup sent you what is called a FRU phone. FRU means Factory Refurbished Unit if I remember right. When ever these phones are sent out they are meant to be exact replacements of phones someone already have, not to replace a different model. The reason for this is very obvious. Its only the phone, no bat, no software, no nothing but the phone. I personally say this is a FUBAR on this sup's behalf, he SHOULD have known this and sent you out a NEW one not a FRU in this case if he was going to auth something along these lines... The worse part is, and hate to say this, that finding someone to take responsibility for this is going to be hard. The best thing to do is track down this Sup and let him know what happened and that you need something new not a FRU. Hopefully he would do his job right this time. The other option is to push. Squeaky wheels always get the grease, and you have full right to be very Squeaky. When I say to push I mean to try to get to a Data sup or a CRT rep and let them know whats going on, I truly do hope, for your's and our sake, that they will replace the unit with a new one with out much trouble.
I'm unfortionately not in a position where I myself can help you directly, just advise based on my knowledge. I really wish I could, I wince and hate every time I hear one of these types of rare screw ups.
Note: Thank you kindly for keeping your cool on there, I can understand the frustration with this and nothing hurts relations more then high tempters. Continue your cool and keep trying, you'll get what you want, I'm sure of it... in how long... I hate to say but I don't know.

What Motorola/Verizon is doing...
I see what's going on now.
They are only allowing people to buy the phone online that are signing up for a two year contract, that way, people that planned on upgrading or buying the phone outright cannot sign up for the free bluetooth device.
I just got off the phone with Verizon and they said it's only oderable when you sign up for a two year contract and that it will be orderable to everyone else on the 11th.
I don't know what everyone is screaming about for on the 9th.
NOTE: When you go through the process of signing up for the 2 year plan to get your phone, it says to plan to wait up to 10 days to receive your phone!
