Samsung SPH-i500

I am looking to get a palm phone the will run Palm OS 5.X or greater. Does anyone know of an upcomming phone that is not a Treo?

How do I send text messages on the Sprint network with this phone?

How can we unlock Samsung i500 ?

Hello to all,
I have to carry a phone (i500) and a pager at all times for work.
Is it possible to have the pager, page me through the i500 so I can lose the pager?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got an i500 and want to use it with at Macintosh. Neither Samsung nor Sprint support it for Macs. I've downloaded the Palm Desktop 4.2 sofware for Macs but now I'm told I need drivers for the phone to use it with a Mac. Does anyone know were I can find them?

I almost bought the SPH I-500 phone a few weeks ago. But before I drop a couple hundred on a phone, I thought I'd do some research. In doing so, I came across this site. I've been 'lurking' in this forum (off & on) for a couple of weeks now, and must say there is a LOT of valuable information on this site and forum. Thank you.

Since I know that I will be purchasing a PDA phone, should I go ahead and get the I-500 now? After the rebate, it's only gonna run me 450 bucks. Or should I hold off for the I-550? From what I read it looks like that unit will cost close to $700. Plus I have no idea of when it will be available. (There was some discussion on a Mid-August or Novemebe...

Anyone know where I can get the software to back this phone up without having to pay $150 for it?? 😳

I'm using BeyondContacts (from Dataviz) with my Samsung i500 (Sprint PCS) in order to connect with MS Outlook. PocketMirror (from Chapura), the standard app for this purposes, has limited functionality. In the past I used KeySuite (also from Chapura) but it's not compatible with the i500.

Unfortunately, BeyondContacts disables the autodial. Is there a way to get it back?

I'm with Sprint and currently looking into getting either the Samsung i500 or the Treo 600.

I'm on Mac, and I want to be able to input my databases, maps, Word and Excel documents, etc. into the phone. But it's my understanding that even though they use Palm OS, these phones are more PC based.

I've check with Mark/Space who makes interface software for Mac users. They have software for the Treo 600 but nothing for the Samsung i500. Nor are they going to make any software to link the i500 with Macs. Their statement is "use Palm OS 4.1 and you're on your own. In some cases it works and some it doesn't "

OK, I"m sure this topic has probably been worn out, but I'm going to ask anyway. Any thoughts on the comparison of these phones? My plan was to use it more as a phone than an organizer, but faced with the opportunity to send and receive office e-mail through the device I could see using it in that way. I have a Treo 90 and like the keyboard. I like Grafitti less, but it's a more compact phone and I like having a standard dialing pad.

Thoughts? Anybody try a Treo 600 and have thoughts about the size? Is it unwieldy?

I'll take any advice.
