Here's how to get mp3 ringtones & jpegs into your V525/V500 !!!

I've spoken to alot of people that say the Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 2 version that allows you to upload ringtones & images isn't out yet. Well.... that may be true, but thats never stopped me before. Here is how you get it: Firstly you'll need a previous version of Motorola Mobile PhoneTools and an update. So go here and get it: http://www.motclub.com/html/programs.htm click on - Mobile phone tools 2.19a Scroll down & Download 2 files: 1. Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 1.23c Original English 2. Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 2.16 Update English Install PhoneTools 1.23c first. Then upgrade using PhoneTools 2.16 Update. Once this is done use Liveupdate in the program to download & install version 2.19. Once your done with this you now have Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 2.19 on your computer (Remember.. the one thats not out yet) and can create .mp3 files and upload them to your phone as well as jpeg images. (And more stuff) This program also allows you to sync with Outlook and many other things like Internet connection. I haven't finished playing with it yet but I have successfuly ripped a song in WAV, cropped it where I wanted, encoded to mp3 and uploaded it to the V525, and played it back from the phone. Sounds AWESOME too. I also sport a wallpaper of my son that I uploaded. *NOTE - If the 2.16 update doesn't work from the site I supplied try downloading it from here: ftp://ftp2.bvrp.com/motorola/ This FTP server is suppose to be the software's authors site. You'll find versions in many languages here. You should be able to browse the site with IE, but if not just find an FTP client like CuteFTP and connect that way (anonymously). Hope this works for you like it did for me! I'm connecting using my USB cable. But you can connect with Blutooth & Serial. Remember... Share this knowledge - Don't be stingy!!!! thefathunk
