Um, hate to point this out, BUT http://www.cingular.com/learn/international /roaming/international-roaming.jsp the third item is a link regarding adding international roaming to your account. For those too lazy to visit the link it says: Getting Started Select your destination country from the list below. Determine if your wireless device will operate in the country you are visiting. Activate international roaming for your account. the pop up states: Activating International Roaming or Long Distance Before leaving the U.S. or Canada, please call 1-866-CINGULAR or visit a retail store to activate international roaming or international long distance. NOTE: Your payment history and the length of time you've been a Cingular customer will be factors which determine your eligibility for this service. It took me 30 seconds to find that out. From our website. I think the rep on your first call should have communicated to you the policy better, or the process involved in getting such a feature added to your account, but don't say there isn't anywhere on the website that says anything about how your tenure affects provisioning the feature. If you had actually read that, it would have driven you to ask about it if the rep hadn't brought it up. You're the one with the superhero costume and big name bud, someone who is an expert on the industry. On here, we know you're informed. On the phone, you're a voice who needs assistance. For all you know, the rep did everything they were supposed to do to get the feature addd, it may have even showed in their system it was added, but either the information didn't get loaded to the switch, a request was not processed, the international roaming database didn't update, the international carriers were slow to process the newly provisioned access ... it could have been a dozen or more things. Tex's response was telling ... telling you that in person service with someone who can shake your hand, knows your account and can look you in the eye is often times more preferable than an anonymous exchange over the phone with someone you'll never speak to or hear from again. It was not your preference. Assuming an expert in the field would be more educated, not unreasonable at all in my book.

C417 Headset jack stopped working ...
by mayjur    Feb 18, 2007, 12:08 AM
in the Samsung SGH-C417 / C416 forum

Hi. My wife and I both have SGH-C417s (mine is black, my wife's red) and last month we purchased two (wired) headsets. The problem is that the headsets just recently stopped working - we don't use them that often so it was probably last week when we last used the headsets and today (Feb 18, 2007) BOTH stopped working. Actually they "sorta" work but when you call someone they emit a continuous annoying BEEPING SOUND and are utterly useless because of this. Has this happened to anyone else? Or are we the only cheap ones not using bluetooth with this phone? NOTE: the headset jack on this phone requires a 2.5mm FOUR connection headset (which is very hard to find - most 2.5mm are THREE connection). If you plug a 2.5mm THREE headset jack into the C417 you get a similar annoying beeping sound.

The cable and software is a pretty good deal. I haven't used the outlook "syncing" yet, but i think it does. 2 - is it possible to synch MS Outlook for contacts and calendar to the L6 using the USB cable/connection? Yes, I did it once (using bluetooth connection), but I don't keep my contacts in Outlook so I've forgotten how. But knowing that you can do it should give you enough motivation to keep trying. (hint, try to control the process from the PC). 1 - is it possible to upload photos taken on the L6 to a computer via the USB cable/connection? I've never done it, but I can do it using bluetooth and I've read that others have achieved what you are trying to do. Note: I'm in Australia, I don't know of any differences in installed software, so you may want to check that.
