MIDI files are technology from the early 90's that sound ok, but no words are in there. Realtones sound just like the real thing. (note: please excuse the simple answer.)

on another note...most people that buy this phone now, are just buying it to "stand out" (including me)....but once the price goes down and more people start getting the phone, we will want to get a newer/different phone....so the way i look at it....paying over 800 dollars for a phone that you will use for less than 1 year...i dunno if its worth it....i kind of wish i didnt buy this phone
