Customer Service, Cingular and things outside my window....
by BrokenSoul    Oct 24, 2005, 9:28 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

 Reading through the responses on here... One has to stop and wonder... Are all customer service reps whiny b1tchs to begin with, or is it something that grows over time? Seriously... I have a friend who works for T-Mobile Customer Care. She's fine. Normal as she can be. Then I talk to some reps and they are all like with the "grr" and "arggg!" I'm like whoa cujo! Sit, Stay! Good Rep. Here's your bone. Cingular customer care reps are the freaking worst! I hate each and every single one of them. Never once, whether is was calling to ask a question or activate a new line of service did I ever have a "pleasant" experience. One does not even have to wonder why Cingular was dropped from the Better Business Bureau in Upstate New York. They made good faith to fix less than 40% of customer complaints. Why? Because it would have required them to do some work, possibly? If cingular's billing wasn't more screwed up than verizon's, they could be doing better with less customer complaints. But as it stands 1- They cannot decide on a rate plan for more than 6 months. 2- When they screw up, they refuse to fix it (personal issue there...) 3- "oooo.... Let's come out with new technology, that'll quiet 'em down!" NOT! Thinking you can WOW the masses into submission with your "new" (LMAO) 3G technology? Sheeeeeuuuuut Up. It's another way for Cingular to screw up their billing. I didn't realize when I signed that contract so many months ago that I was also signing up for the monthly roto-rootering of my colon. (Side note... Looking out my door... A doctor just picked up 8 coffees from Starbucks. How do I know he's a doctor? He's wearing scrubs and a surgical gown... I hope he's not the patient!) Whew! My rant is done for now. Shall Continue Later!!!!

Just a note for all the TRASH talkers!

The point of threads is to share information. All of this crap that you guyes have going on back and forth is ridicules. I can't even read an actual response. It's always trash talk. If you don't carry Cingular and all you want to do is insult it, do it on you own carries section. Quit waisting everyone else's time. These threads can be very helpful to people who need them. They are also submitted to companies for feedback and when you just "run your mouth" all the time, it gets old and pisses people off

I agree. We are with Cingular because it works best for us. I do not have dropped calls and I am satisfied with the Customer Service reps here in Houston. I could give a rats you know what about what is going on in South Carolina or anywhere else. If it does not work for you, switch. End of the discussion.

Just a quick note, I didn't have a problem with Best Buy and Wal-Mart until Cingular jacked up the price of every phone $20. The Nokia 6010 used to be free on a 2-year contract, new or upgrade. Now that phone is $49.99. Even if you add a data package, the cheapest you can go is $29.99. Again, the numbers don't lie.

That's understandable. I think what you are saying is legitimate. I think the poster was referring to people that having nothing better to do than to come on here and make it their goal in life to "prove" how Cingular sucks. I worked for Cingular and I am extremely bitter about the company, but I'm not on here simply to argue. However, it's people like TenMidgits that get really annoying. People who live in the forum 24/7 to "prove" their point. It just gets old. I don't think it was referring to people like you.

Now thats not completely fair boys. Just because YOU don't have issues you want to shut up those who do? I think it is good for those with issues to post them here. Even if they are angry. I think it's great for higher ups to see those posts well as the hearts and flower posts. In fact I think it's MORE important for them to see the unhappy customers rants. It is from them they will learn more. I am sure TemMidgits is not alone in his thoughts and represents a huge more silent minority who does as you say. Keeps quiet and just leaves. Only 897million new activations is proof you are getting your wish. I have both Cingular AND Verizon service and phones. If Cingular was all that great I would not need Verizon and vice versa. I will say Cingular has been worse since the merger though.

No one is being unfair. He just stirs mess up. If he got rubbed the wrong way, that's cool, switch. No one has a problem discussing some bad points about Cingular. I will be the first to start, but you have a few people who incite. That is who we are talking about. For the most part, I think Verizon is the better wireless company right now. Verizon has grown nicely since its merger and has had time to stabilize and offer great services. Right now Cingular is going integrating and problems are arising from this. I agree and sometimes it sucks. But is Cingular the worst company like he states, no. He screams churn, well last time I checked Sprint and T-Mobile's churn percentage to it customer base was higher than Cingular's. Just screaming crap out of your mouth like an over emotional female is not needed. He can go cry over in the Verizon forum. Im pretty sure they will offer him comfort and wipe his tears away.

I think if you go back and read Migit's first post you will see some frustration but not nearly the inflammatory statements you imply. His FIRST response from a ,member was a brush off from just calling him a name. Now if you believe that will not fuel a fire you are mistaken. You flame an already frustrated customer what do you expect? It's ok to protect and defend your company but when someone is frustrated and actually celebrating the end of a financial commitment to your company people might instead react with empathy. Help save a customer rather then lose one for life. Cingular cannot afford to lose customers. ANY customers. I know Cingular is a good company. They have and will let customer's out of their contracts when there are only a few towers. He should have tried that route. Those customers will come back when the service gets better. But If they were met with the venom and immediate name calling from CS as they are here they will never come back.

No he is just trying to incite. You looked at one post. Please go through them all and let me know what you come back with. I do agree with you on the Customer Service though. It seems to be an issue that the Cingy people need to deal with. But at the same time many of them are having to deal with a lot of crap so I think this place is great for them to come vent.

I did look at them all but he was attacked before he really got going. He was called a "troll" buy the first responder. Nothing else was said. Just because he was frustrated. He then went on to say some very inciteful things. But he certainly did not start out that way. I'm not going to defend rudeness but when someone who appears to be frustrated is called a name immediately I cannot blame him for flaming everything around him. People need to help others who have issues not call them names. You catch more flies with honey and all that. I would have said to him "I understand your frustration, perhaps you can call Cingular and they might let you out early. If they don't then you can call them every name in the book. I would too"

And you know that how? You followed him into the Verizon forum and attacked him there. (Yes I do read all the forums where I have phone service). See what I mean? You guys make all kinds of "assumptions" based on what? In life that is unsettling. In business that is deadly. How could you know if he was banned? I certainly could not come to that conclusion based on anything he said. Many have said a lot worse and still do. A lot. I stand by my informal "investigation". He came in frustrated and happy to be leaving your company.no one asked why, where he lived or anything. First response was calling him a name. No I can't blame him for anything he said afterwards at all. You poke an angry dog with a stick he will bite it. He was the angry dog first.
